To,
All the members of SC TED 06
Dear All,
This has the reference to the trailing mail. It was decided in the last SC TED 06 Meeting to send the
document TED 06 (14015) 'Statutory Plates and Inscriptions for Motor Vehicles their Location and
Method of attachment - Vehicle Identification Numbering System' for printing.
Meanwhile it has been indicated by Mr. Dinesh G M (M/S TKM) that this document is in line with AIS 065
(upto Amendment 3). Although Amendment No. 4 has also been issued for AIS 065 but this existing document
[TED 06 (14015)] does not take it into account.
Please note that Amendment No. 4 to AIS 065, amends 'Page No. 2, Clause 3.1.2.1(4), Code for Miscellaneous
Information:' as following (The copy of amendment is also attached) :
It can be observed that three new categories have been added (D,G&J , also indicated in green color text) via
Amendment No. 4 to AIS 065.
Since these categories represent the vehicles which are based on the recently developed/developing
technologies, hence it is proposed to update the document TED 06 (14015) with them, so that the requirement
for an amendment at a later stage can be averted.
you are requested to give your comments, if any, by 2nd August 2021. if no comments are received by this
date, we will consider it as your approval for the same.
