COVID-19 Protocols (January 2021)

The Following Guidelines apply to Faculty, Staff, Students, and Visitors

On-Campus at Temple Rome

Please be mindful that everyone must always wear a mask on campus to protect
our community. When visiting different offices, maintain social distancing and
always wear a mask as well.

It is recommended that everyone wash and sanitize their hands throughout the day,
especially before eating or drinking and before applying any cosmetic products.
You will find Covid-19 compliant gel dispensers throughout campus for your
convenience.

All the classrooms and spaces in the building will indicate the maximum number
of people allowed in that area at the same time. We ask that you always respect this
number. Be mindful that this number includes the staff member for offices and
public spaces where applicable but does not include the faculty member in case of
classrooms, which is limited to one, while tutors and / or TA’s must be
considered as an extra student.

1. Entering the building

Each faculty has been Issued a new TUR FACULTY Badge to facilitate your
arrival to campus.

Please make sure you follow the signs and written instructions, as well as any
instruction given by Security Guards or Staff Members.

Before you leave your home, please monitor your temperature and if you have
37.5°C or higher (99.5°F) do not head to school but contact Sabrina, Nicola, and
Mary so they can notify your class and can give you support. If you head to
campus with a fever, you could be denied access and be sent back home.
Although we have two entrances (main lobby or lower level via the ramp), and we
recommend you use the one closest to the classroom or studio where you need to
go.

As a courtesy to our Faculty, we have a “Fast Track” which for logistical purposes
can only be located at the entrance down the ramp. You can follow the signs and
waiting spots at the bottom of the ramp but please be mindful that if the guard
already has two students inside the lobby, he will have to dispatch them and then
let you in.

If you need to come in through the main entrance, we are not able to accommodate
any requests for a faster entry process as the space is much more limited than the
downstairs area.

Once you reach the security guard’s desk, you must immediately sanitize your
hands and you have your temperature taken. If your temperature is below 37.5°C
you can enter the building by showing your Faculty badge to the guard.

If you forget your Faculty badge, you are asked to step aside to sign in before you
enter.

We recommend that you allow yourself an extra 10 minutes to your schedule, so

you don’t incur in any delays.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure you locate the SIGNED "EXIT" doors as no one
can leave the building from the entry doors with our current protocol.

2. Entering a classroom
Seats in the classrooms have been socially distanced, and we ask that you always
maintain the existing setup and do not move any chairs or furniture.

This rule (don't move anything) also applies for all the art studios.

There are marks on the floor that indicate where each chair should be and the limit
between the teaching area and the students. Although we have a sanitizing
schedule throughout the day, you can also find disinfecting products inside each
classroom so feel free to use them to sanitize the work area that you will be using.
All classrooms are equipped with a heating system however, the windows must
remain cracked open throughout the day to allow a natural exchange of air and
airflow so if you tend to feel cold, please bring an extra layer so you are always
comfortable.

Because the lower-level classrooms and studios have no operable windows, we

must work under the 45 x 15 minutes air circulation rule which requires a separate
protocol. You do not need to interrupt your class to do this protocol as a guard or a
cleaning staff can take care of it, however, if the noise is too much to handle, you
can choose to take a break.

3. Common areas and restrooms

The common areas throughout campus include the main Lobby, the Gallery of Art,
the staircases and corridors, the waiting halls outside classrooms and restrooms, the
vending machine areas, the Jellybean Lounge, the Library, the Student lounge, the
Computer Lab and the restrooms.

In all these common areas, room capacity and social distancing need to be
observed and we ask that you always maintain the existing setup and do not move
the furniture (there are marks and signs indicating where chairs and couches should
be and where you can and cannot sit).

We also ask that you keep the staircases, corridors and waiting areas completely
free and flowing and under any circumstance gather or stand in any of these
spaces, unless there is a waiting spot indicated on the floor (near vending
machines, outside offices and restrooms or at the library).

Temple Rome has restrooms located throughout the entire building so please locate
the closest to you or if you have enough time, direct yourself to other floors where
there might be less waiting time. The capacity of each restroom Is indicated on the
door and you must make sure it is always respected. We recommend that you
sanitize your hands before and after you use the restrooms.

Room capacities and social distancing requirements specifically for the Faculty
Room, have significantly reduced the number of people allowed at the same time
so, we ask that you limit your stay inside the room to the minimum required. If
you need to stay and work for a longer period, please contact Nicola to see if you
can book a classroom that is available. You are also welcomed to use the student
lounge in the lower-level or the library, always respecting the social distancing
measures that are in place.
4. Leaving the building
Please keep in mind that the Covid-19 protocol indicates that entrance and exit
doors must be separated from one another and to always keep the entry flow, if you
leave the building for any reason, you need to go over the entry process again, no
exceptions (this includes smoking and lunch breaks).

Security guards are not be able to accommodate people that left the building even
for a moment, so we ask that you plan your breaks accordingly.

If you would like to go over the signage and see the specific classrooms where you
are teaching, please contact Natasha natasha.vlady@temple.edu so she can be
available to show you around and answer any questions you might have about
these new procedures and protocols.
