INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUDIT

Once the waste is collected and brought to the sorting area, keep the following ready for
the segregation and auditing process.

1.Tarpauline or plastic sheet or sacks 2. Hook Weighing Scale

Spread the waste on sheets to prevent Digital is better for accuracy & convenience
contamination of ground. Also makes waste
easily visible.

3. Printed data sheets for filling up ​4. Drinking water provision for volunteers
on site. This will have to be entered
into the excel sheet shared earlier

1 PET Bottles Water/ Soft drink, Juice bottles/ Oil. (usually

designated by the #1 printed at bottom of
container)
2 Multi layered plastic. Chips,biscuits​, ​shampoo packets, toothpaste
sachets, coffee sachets, junk food wrappers, biscuit
wrappers, sweet, toffee wrappers, gutka etc
3 Tetrapak Juice cartons, milk cartons, lassi etc.
4 All Other Plastic All kinds of plastics like shampoo bottles, lotion
items bottles, bottle caps, milk pouches
5 Single use plastic Food containers, coffee and cold drinks cups,
items disposable plastic or styrofoam (Thermocol) cups,
plates, spoons forks and other utensils, non woven
poly polypropelene, bags, plastic bags, straws
6 Glass All kinds of glass EXCEPT thermometers, light bulbs,
medicine packs and bottles, medical supplies, etc.
7 Tins - metals Non-printed aluminum foil, tins and cans, scrap
metal and any other types of metals, etc.
8 Paper/ Cardboard All types of paper - Newspapers, magazines,
cartons, books, paper packaging, paper cups, etc.
9 Cloth/ Textiles All kinds of cloth, rags, textiles, etc.

10 Others any other waste that does not fall in the above
categories
