Name

 Waterproof, designed for long-term outdoor deployment

 Easily deployable in under 30 minutes.
 Compact with the maximum packing dimensions at 2.2m.
 Ergonomically designed and easily transportable shipping container.
 Tactical deployable variation.
 Integrated Dust Cap System.
 Monitoring up to 9000 MHz.
 See electrical and mechanical specifications tables for more detail.
A. Bottom mast assembly
B. Top mast assembly (Including integrated monitoring antenna)
C. 300 - 1000 MHz dipole assemblies
D. 20 – 300 MHz dipole arms
E. 20 – 300 MHz dipole elements
1. Make sure that the notch (north mark) situated on the bottom flange is facing north, and bolt the
flange onto the required mounting surface. See figure 5.

2. Align the Top and Bottom masts while mating the flanges together. Make sure not to damage the
connectors. The three location pins and holes will align and that will engage the connectors. Clip
the four toggle latches in position as seen in Figure 6.
3. Insert the five 300 MHz – 1000 MHz dipoles into their corresponding bushes on the collar on the
top mast. Align the slot and stud as indicated and fasten the latches.

4. Insert the five 20 MHz – 300 MHz dipole arms into their corresponding bushes on the bottom
mast collar. Align the hole and the stud as indicated and fasten the latches.

5. Screw in the ten 20 MHz – 300 MHz dipole elements as indicated. After turning the elements in,
lock them by inserting a screwdriver in the fastening hole until the O-rings are compressed.
1. To loosen the toggle latch, slightly lift the lever and push the locking mechanism outwards
“towards the catch”

2. Use a 5.5mm spanner to loosen the small lock nut.

3. Place the head of the retaining bolt in the catch and adjust the closing angle by turning with a
screwdriver. A range of 35°- 45° is comfortable.

4. Tighten the lock nut without letting the retainer bolt turn to keep the adjustment.
 Do not drop the antenna or any of its components.
 Do not place heavy objects on top of the antenna or any of its components.
 Do not rest the antenna components on their connectors.
 Do not knock the components and connectors.

 The antenna must be packed into the Tactical DF Storage Container during transportation or when
the antenna is not in use.
 Check all dipole arms and bushes for any seizure marks.
 Check all dipole arms and bushes for dirt or grime. Make sure to check the o-ring grooves for any
dirt and grime.
 Check all dipole arms, dipole bushes and o-rings for sufficient lubrication.
 Check all o-rings for cracks or perishes.
 Check that all o-rings are present on all dipole arms.

 Use a clean lint free cloth with a small amount of Benzine to wipe any dirt or grime away.
 Use a separate dry lint free cloth to wipe away any Benzine that may still be present.
 A thin layer of grease (silicone-based is advised) or equivalent should now be applied to the dipole
arms, bushes and o-rings.

 Push on one side of the o-ring with the index finger and thumb, this will cause the other side to
make a loop which can then be caught and pulled out of the groove.*
 The replacement o-ring should now be lubricated with grease (silicone based is advised) or
equivalent and rolled over the dipole arm and into the groove.

 Use a small screwdriver or thin object to wedge out the o-ring. Care should be taken when doing
this, not to damage the o-ring groove or o-ring.
 The o-ring should be a length of 542mm. Glue the ends together with CA-120™ (superglue).
 The replacement o-ring cord should now be lubricated with grease (silicone based is advised) or
equivalent and placed inside the groove.
The graph illustrates the direction finding sensitivity of a typical system measured under specific electrical
conditions. The sensitivity is determined using an IF bandwidth of 1.25 kHz and without averaging and
using a 5-receiver system. The graph shows the minimum signal required to obtain a bearing fluctuation
of less than 1º.
