CHAP 1

1. Taal Volcano is one of the most active and dangerous

volcanoes in the Philippines.
The latest eruption of Taal Volcano on January 12, 2020, and
the numerous earthquakes that followed soon after its eruption
has caused enormous damages and destruction to properties,
crippled business and economic activities and job displacements.
The twelve (12) affected municipalities of Taal Volcano
eruption which includes Agoncillo, Alitagtag, Balete, Cuenca,
Laurel, Lemery, Mataas Na Kahoy, San Nicolas, Sta. Teresita,
Taal and Talisay and the cities of Lipa and Tanauan all within
the 14 kilometer radius.

2. As a response and recovery efforts by the Provincial

Government of Batangas a Proposed Township and
Livelihood Cluster Development was proposed which aims
to provide a relocation and livelihood to the most affected
individuals in the said situation.

3. It has a land area of

18,104 sq. m. whichwill be allotted for the housing of farmers cultivating
high
value crops and those involve in bee farm/ honey bee production. The
distance
between San Juan Municipal Building and Proposed Project Site is
approximately 21.20 kilometers. It is seven kilometers away from the
highway of
San Juan -Laiya Road. The entrance to Barangay Imelda is through Barangay
Laiya, Ibabao passing to Barangay Baluarte.

The general objective of this study is to develop a Detailed Engineering

Design for the Proposed Farmer’s Housing Project at Imelda, San Juan,
(Source: PPDO, Batangas; Date Accessed: September 26, 2020)
Figure 6. Location of the Project

Batangas. Specifically,this study aims to:

1. To present the proposed site development plan which includes the
layout of the following facilities:
a. Road Network System
b. Drainage System
c. Water Line Distribution System
d. Sewage System

2. To develop an architectural, structural, electrical and plumbing

plans for the following structures based on the relevant design
standards:
a. Four-Storey 48-unit Housing
b. Two-storey 12-Unit Housing
c. Two-Storey Multipurpose Building
d. Multipurpose Covered Court
e. Day Care Center and Health Center
f. Storage Warehouse
g. Material Recovery Facility (MRF)
h. Elevated Water Tank
i. Perimeter Fence
3. To present the structural analysis and design of the proposed
infrastructures in compliance with the recent National Structural
Code of the Philippines (NSCP).

4. To propose the Construction Management Plan for the project

consisting of thefollowing:
a. Bill of Quantities and Cost Estimate
b. Construction Scope of Works and Specifications
c. Construction Project Schedule
c.1 PERT CPM and S-Curve
c.2 Manpower Utilization
c.3 Equipment Utilization

CHAPTER 2

Nature of the Project/ Services

The Township and Livelihood Cluster Development
Project will have three (3) components, with land
development as the first component, the housing and
resettlement development as the second component and
the livelihood cluster development as the third component.

The proposed housing site will provide the essential utilities needed in a
community. This includes water supply and electric supply. These essential
utilities
can help the residents to have a safe, healthy and efficient way of living. The
water
supply will come from National Waterworks and Sewerage System Authority
(NAWASA) and the proponents designed an elevated water tank for the
storage of
water. The Batangas Electric Cooperative II also known as BATELEC
II will provide

The potential users of this housing project will be the residents from the
barangays within the main island of Taal Volcano. According to Provincial
Planning
and Development Office, the main target as beneficiaries of this project are
the Taal
Volcano eruption victims, especially the residents of volcano island. The
barangays of
Alas-as and Pulang-Bato, San Nicolas, Batangas, Sitio Tabla and Sitio San
Isidro of
Talisay, Batangas, and barangay Calawit, Balete, Batangas are the
communities that
are within the main island. Table 1 shows the affected population of the Taal
volcano
within the volcano island.

Porntaial users
The proposed farmers’
housing facility has a total of 180 units. Considering that every unit will
house one
family with 5 household members, the project will accommodate
approximately a
total of 900 beneficiaries from the main island of Taal Volcano. The lot
allotted for
Farmer’s Housing Site covers an area of 18,104 𝑚2 which is sufficient
enough to
provide each family an adequate space, more comfortable, peaceful and
worth-to-live
in houses. The remaining number of individuals from the total expected
population of
Taal Volcano victims will be accommodated by the other phases of the
Imelda
Township and Cluster Development Project. The Provincial Planning and
Development Office of Batangas is the one to facilitate and is authorized in
choosing
the beneficiaries to be accommodated for the proposed farmers’ housing
project.

The source of the electricity supply will be furnished by the

Batangas II Electric Cooperative, Inc., also known as
BATELEC II.
depends on the provider that the user will choose and the
communication service will be served by General
Telecommunication System (GTS).
