PASSIVE INFRARED SENSOR

Passive Infrared Sensors is a device that measures infrared light radiating from a certain field of
view. PIR is widely used in security systems because it is made of Pyroelectric sensor that can
detect different levels of infrared radiation.

Applications and Uses

Automated Door

- PIR is applied in doors that will detect approaching individuals and pick up the human body
heat signature then the sensor will tell the controller to turn on the motor which opens the door.
The controller waits a little while, and reverses the motor to close the door.

Light motion sensors

- Detects changes in the amount of ambient light in an area. The ambient light reading will
change as something moves in the field of view.
