(Article Title)
A study by Adil Abbas and Sophia Rosario (2019) basically examined the highly
competitive environment that the organizations are facing now a days in both
urban and rural areas in Australia. The Article title was based upon the strict
recruitment and selection processes that have been introduced and performed
by many organizations in order to hire new employees which could influence
many serious and challenging problems for the applicants that are planning to
in roll for a job.
(Main theory)
The methodology that was used in this article was Quantitative Data through
which one way of collecting Data was through Online Survey in which 204
participants took place and the participants shared their personal information
based on their experiences with one or more organization as their current or
previous employee. The applicants were also requested to share their
perspective as a successful and unsuccessful applicants. Another way of
collecting Data was through a hypothesis testing which was done with the help
of Chi-square analysis and Spearman’s Correlation analysis.

(Technique)
The Technique that was used to collect the data was through the help of SPSS
(Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) in which hypothesis test was
conducted through Chi-square in order to find out that whether in H0=0 (null
hypothesis): Structured interview is not an critical aspect in identifying a
suitable candidate or H1≠0 (alternative hypothesis): Structured interview is a
critical aspect in identifying the most suitable candidate. This hypothesis was
conducted on the basis of the structured interview that was taken through a
survey in which Hiring members responded to some certain questions within
the stipulated time of the interview. Another Hypothesis was conducted
through correlation analysis through which H0=0 (null hypothesis): Feedback
provided are significantly correlated with the need for improvement in
selection process or H1 (alternative hypothesis): Feedback provided are not
significantly correlated with the need for improvement in selection process.
(FINDINGS)
Chi-square analysis outcome reported that p-value was significantly lower than
0.05 (p=0.005<0.05) so we will reject Null hypothesis and conclude that
structured interview is critical aspect in identifying most suitable candidate. As
the test results suggested that interviewers would like appreciate the suitable
questions as part of the structured interview so if the applicants being
successful or unsuccessful in an interview process they would still appreciate
the constructive feedback. In addition to Correlation analysis, it has established
a weak relationship between Feedback and improvement in selection process.
The people were not interested in need for improvement in selection process
but there was a strong relationship between feedback and unsuccessful
applicants
Conclusion (quality and opinion)
According to my opinion the quality of the article was great as it showed all the
graphs, bar charts and pie charts accurately with all the estimation required to
calculate the certain Data through the use of SPSS. The demerits of this article
was that it targeted a certain hiring group in order to find out hypothesis for
hiring ratio in the whole country.
