Action research is a philosophy

generally applied in the social
sciences.

evaluate, investigate and analyze
weaknesses within academia.
Research is then used to help
instructors address issues that
arise.
 SYSTEMATIC
Like any form of research, it
follows a system.

Action Research REFLECTIVE

It follows a continuous reflection
(Titchen, 2015 ) and action.

It is more specific to the location
(school) circumstances (teaching and
learning, etc.

Characteristics AR can be participative where teachers
of and learners are co-researchers.

Action Research FUTURE-ORIENTED

It seeks solution to the current
(Titchen, 2015 ) problem for future improvement.
 Importance of Action Research
- It is persuasive and
authoritative.
- It is relevant.
- It allows teacher access to
research findings.
- It is not fad.
- It can become an integral part of
the daily process of teaching
