“Leonardo-like” Engineers and Managers

Until now we have discussed two important factors for the MEMS success: core
technology standardization and possible killer applications. But there is another
key ingredient we cannot underestimate: the lateral thinking of “Leonardo-like”
MEMS engineers and managers.
Renaissance engineers, who have a breadth of skills and knowledge in
technological processes, materials science, mechanical and electronic design and
strong physics background, well supported by renaissance active managers willing
to accept new challenges, to review critically their beliefs and working hard to
Milan, 1482-1500 convince company top management about the goodness of the new technologies
are perhaps the most important factors for the real success of MEMS technology.

Things that are being redefined Things we didn’t think would be smart

Things that are being augmented
