Skill sets:
Required:
Strong embedded C fundamentals + experience with microcontrollers (STM32 preferred). Note that the
student must have done at least one end-to-end embedded system project using a micro like STM, TI etc.

Project 5 Title: Automated testing of Integrated Power Supply (IPS) systems for Indian Railways
Description: The project entails automating the testing of the sub-modules used in IPS systems. On the
hardware/embedded side, this includes replacing manually operated power devices with equivalents that
can be interfaced with microcontrollers and designing logic for coordinating the steps in the process. On the
software side, this information is transmitted via a string of multimeters to a desktop system via RS-485,
where the information needs to be captured in a desktop application that will not just display the results but
also apply logic to ascertain whether the measured values are within bounds, and whether the overall
system has passed or failed. The results need to be stored in the cloud, and the overall data set potentially
needs to be analyzed to ascertain trends in system failures during testing.

Required:
Strong embedded C fundamentals + experience with microcontrollers (STM32 preferred). Note that the
student must have done at least one end-to-end embedded system project using a micro like STM, TI etc.
(not a simple Arduino/Raspberry Pi-based project) and must know how to read electrical schematics
