SURVEY OF LITERARY GENRE REFERENCES OF 21ST CENTURY LEARNERS
In the modern competitive age, reading is the cornerstone for success in all academic
disciplines. The activity sought to find out what Literary Genres in 21st Century and Pre-Colonial
Period preferences of adolescent students.

A questionnaire survey that was made in Google form was administered to 10

respondents to found out what Literary Genres in 21st Century and Pre-Colonial Period would
they like to rea.

The graphic presentation below shows the result about “What Literary Genres in 21st

Summary of Result
The data indicates that 50% of the respondents would like to read Manga genre. Next is the Creative fiction
and Science Fiction with the average of 30%. Then Hyper Poetry and Flash Fiction gaining 20%. Lastly, illustrated
Novel, Digi Fiction, and Graphic Novel got the lowest percentage with the average of 10%. The results reveal that
most of the respondents has an interest in reading Manga Literature Genres.
The majority of respondents (80%) preferred to read songs. Followed by the persons who prefer to read riddles with
the average of 70% poems (60%), epics with 50%, Rhymes with 30% However, a good percentage preferred both Non-
Fiction and Folk Narratives (20%) for reading. Lastly, Oral Genealogies got 10%. Meaning to say, my respondents like to
read Song.
