End of Module reflection

Generally the modules delivered in this lesson are quite complete and easy to understand.

Module 1 about Critical Crisis Thinking - Module 1 - Accidents, emergencies, disaster, crises
Module. I’m following a webinar about The Nature of Crises: An Analytical Perspective with
Professor Erik Hollnagel. Introducing about accidents, emergencies, disaster, crises.
Then continued with how if when the crisis starts-readness versus surprises, As the crisis develops-
predictions and confidence, sustaining the capability to respond, when the crisis ends-returning to a
new normal.
The material provided is very complete, how to deal with emergency or disaster situations, chaotic
situations, not enough resources to appropiate the planning, unspredict data needs, unspredic
situations, decision making, team work and etch.
I’m following too webinar about Introduction to Emergency / Crisis Management with Marcos
Borges. There are presents about Also introducing about disaster and crisis life cycle, the importance
of information for decision making in crisis, the crisis of the unexpected- critical thingking, and current
challenges in the area.

further learning about Relocating an Acute Medical Ward following the Christchurch
Earthquake. The magnitude 6.3 Christchurch earthquake struck the city at 12:51pm on Tuesday,
22 February 2011. Christchurch hospital (650 beds) was severely impacted. Three medical wards
were permanently closed. 33% acute medical capacity lost. The team of one of the closed wards
was given a task to set up and run acute medical ward at the different hospital within a week
from the day of the earthquake.
In this chapter, I am required to be a team leader who must create a new treatment room and control a
team to provide post-earthquake services.
further learning about reviewing journals include:
1. Preliminary information
Full reference, Title in full, author, date of publication, place, publisher and ISBN
2. Introduction
State the topic of the publication and its general thesis to give the reader a context for the
publication. This could cover the main themes of the publication, and give an overview as to the
general subject matter.
3. Development
This section should outline how the author develops these key themes and what the reviewer
has learned from them. Publication authors' arguments have to  me made clear before your own
reviewing, criticizing or evaluation is attempted.
And I choose one of the journals provided and I review it. I think I’m interesting with The Impact
of the 22nd February 2011 Earthquake on Christchurch Hospital and I have reviewed it.

Overall the module I think this module is very good, providing new knowledge about disaster
management, emergency in crisis conditions, adding to my insight to apply it.
