2 Table 2a shows the daily average wages of factory workers in Hong Kong and Guangdong

Changes of the location factors in the ZDR


After 20 years of industrial development, the Zhujiang Delta Region has
developed a good industrial base. There are many factories. In some of the areas, such
as Shenzhen and Guangzhou, the price of land and labour has gone up. This pushes
many labour-intensive industries to move further inland in Guangdong, such as
Heyuan(河源)and Shaoguan(韶關), where labour costs are much lower.
