Sub: Request for confirmation for the applicability of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Act, 2006.

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Act, 2006 has been introduced w.e.f. 2.10.2006. Following are the relevant
Provisions of the Act which are brought to your kind attention.

 The Act is applicable in respect of enterprises engaged in Manufacture / Production of goods (pertaining to an industry
specified in Industries Development & Regulation Act, 1951) or engaged in providing or rendering of services.

 Such enterprises are required to file the Information Memorandum with prescribed authorities (i.e. General Manager,
District Industries Centre / District Level Officer in Directorate department dealing with such enterprises of State
Government). This requirement is mandatory for the Medium enterprises engaged in manufacture / production of goods
and optional for Small & Micro enterprises as well as for Medium enterprises engaged in providing or rendering of
services. No need to file the Memorandum in case of SSIU holding a registration certificate.

 The definition of the enterprises as specified by the Act is as follows:

Micro Enterprise Not exceeding Rs.1 crore Not exceeding Rs. 5 crores
Small Enterprise Not exceeding Rs.10 crores Not exceeding Rs. 50 crores
Medium Enterprise Not exceeding Rs.50 crores Not exceeding Rs. Rs.250 crores

We therefore request you to fill in the "CONFIRMATION" portion given below and return the entire sheet to us and wherever
applicable share the certificate of Registration issued from the department. Any time in future if you register under the
provisions of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Act, 2006, you undertake to keep us informed and provide us
the certificate of registration within 30 days of your registration under this Act.

CONFIRMATION

I. We confirm that the provisions of the said Act are applicable to us and our organization falls under the definition of
