Gwen Bettwy – Think like a manager tips

1. Spend your money wisely, hire the right people and follow the right processes
2. Typically, the correct answer is from the manager point of view. It's not that
common that the technology answer is the right one, since technology
changes over time
3. You need to have an idea about technology, to be able to answer from a
manager's point of view.
4. Look for generic answers, they typically work on any business.
5. Look for summary answers, and try not to pick specific technology ones, unless
there's no other better option.
6. Life safety is first!
7. Try to find the right answer in this order
- People (hire the right people, make sure they're trained)
- Processes (Such as Change Management, BCP)
- Technology (Get to the right technology and keep in mind technology
changes)
8. Risk is probably the best process answer. Know the language of Risk.
9. Decisions should be cost-justified. Spend your money wisely and think of
Cost/Benefit, remember that you're a C-Level.
10.It's all about business/corporation. The business leads!
