Many college students misunderstand what an industrial robot is. They confuse the terms
automation, remote-controlled, and numerical-controlled. Obviously, the Robotics Industries
Association (RIA) defines it as “a programmable, multifunction manipulator designed to move
materials, parts, tools or special devices through programmed motion for the performance of
variety of tasks”. As new parts or new products are needed, industrial robots can be
reprogrammed to build the parts or products required. This flexibility saves money because the
equipment does not have to be discarded or rebuilt. In addition, it takes much less time to
reprogram the same industrial robots than to install new ones. In the last twenty years, the
advances in robot hardware and software design have made it possible for bringing industrial
robots into the classroom, especially for Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET) students.
Programming an industrial robot by using a teach pendent is a tedious and time-
consuming task that requires a considerable amount of work-related skills, robotics knowledge
and experience. Robot applications design also requires a tremendous amount of programming
skills and input/output controls to make them useful. Obviously, a good robot programmer is a
key factor of successful robot applications. In order to teach manufacturing engineering
technology (MET) students to program industrial robots, research has proposed the off-line
programming (OLP) as an effective learning approach for industrial robot programming in a
curriculum. A method for learning industrial robot programming that has a positive impact on
reducing the robotics lab programming time (Ex. only two robots are available for 20 students),
reducing the downtime of equipment when programming new work pieces/variants, and
accelerating programming complex paths.
The development of off-line programming scheme to help students learn industrial robot
programming. The off-line programming process is based on examples from industry and
illustrates several good robot program designs. Overall, The OLP process provides not only the
students an excellent learning environment but also a powerful teaching tool for MET instructors.
Research results indicate that the students have the following competence to study multiple
scenarios of a robotic workcell before any decision is committed. They can also allot the cycle
time for a sequence of manufacturing operations and use libraries of pre-defined high-level
commands for certain types of robotic applications. Moreover, students are able to minimize
production interruption and help meet flexible automation goals, and ensure that a robotic system
will do the functions that an end-user needs it to do.

ABS is part of an overall stability system, commonly known as electronic stability control. This
system monitors wheels’ under heavy braking. A sensor is attached to each wheel to detect
whether it is about to lock up and stop moving allowing the system to release the brake. ABS
then continuously and repeatedly applies optimum braking pressure to each wheel without
causing complete lock of the wheels. When ABS is active you may feel pulsation through the
brake pedal as you’re pressing it. The anti-lock system helps the driver remain in control of the
vehicle rather than causing a sudden stop. It reduces the risk of skidding even when undertaking
excessive evasive maneuvers. This is why it’s important to remember that the car’s braking
distance may increase. Accordingly, if you keep driving ahead straight into an obstacle, the car
may not stop in time even if your instincts dictate otherwise. It’s a common misconception that
ABS helps reducing stopping distance.

The NIS Directive was adopted by the European Parliament on 6 July 2016 and entered into force
in August 2016. Member States have to transpose the Directive into their national laws by 9 May
2018 and identify (operate) operators of essential services by 9 November 2018. It is the first
piece of EU-wide legislation on cybersecurity. It provides (law) legal measures to boost the
overall level of cybersecurity in the EU. It ensures the (to prepare) preparedness of the Member
States by requiring them to be appropriately equipped, e.g. via a Computer Security Incident
Response Team (CSIRT) and a competent national NIS ( to authorize) authority. It also
guarantees the cooperation among all the Member States, by setting up a cooperation group, in
order to support and facilitate (strategy) strategic cooperation and the exchange of information
among Member States. (Ultimate) Ultimately, it fosters a culture of security across sectors which

Hacking and data leaking have made web applications security testing crucial. A Web
Application Security Scanner is a software which performs automatic (black box testing / box
black testing/ black testing box) on a web application and identifies ( secure/ secured/ security)
vulnerabilities. Scanners do not ( compile/ access / supply) the source code; they only (perform/
prevent / pilot) functional testing and try to find vulnerabilities. Grabber, developed by Python, is
a web application scanner which can detect many vulnerabilities in web applications such as
Cross site scripting, SQL injection, Ajax testing, file inclusion, JS source code analyzer, and
Backup file check. ( Besides/ However/thus), it is not fast as compared to other security scanners,
(though / tough / taught) it is simple and portable. This tool does (either / not /neither ) offer a
GUI interface nor does it create a PDF report.
