HOW DIFFICULT IT CAN BE TO LIVE BELOW POVERTY LINE

EVALUATE-WHAT PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE BY THE INTERNATIONAL

DEVELOPMENT GOAL ?

In this world we live in today , progress and development is the most vital part of our lives .
Humans want to be more technologically advanced and want everything faster and easier . In
this process of making our lives comfortable we are a threat to the environment . As said by a
famous personality " To take something , you need to give something in return " . In this essay I
am going to illustrate the meaning of progress , development and SDGs (Sustainable
Development Goals ) and then analyse a country for factual evidence .Also , in this essay I am
going to be talking about how economical status and standard of living affects a country's
progress . Out of the 194 countries only 39 advanced economies and developed countries are
there whereas the larger chunk is still developing . In this integrated world there is an
organization called the UN which is a global organization which helps maintain international
peace and security and develop friendly relations between nations . In the UN currently , 193
out od 195 countries are a part in order to maintain a standard of living line and to determine the
difference between countries in terms of development there are SDG Goals which are very
important . These Sustainable Development Goals are some important goals a country has to
abide by inroder to provide its population and youth with the basic needs .

This Set of 17 goals is the key to equal opportunities and a world equal for all . However , in the
world majority of countries like Central African Republic can't abide to all of these SGDs due to
their current economic status . As stated by the World Bank "Central African Republic is one of
the most poorest and fragile countries" . SDGs determine the progress of the country because
everyday Central African Republic everyday half of the population sleeps hungry according to
the UN. This is the violation of SDG 2 "ZERO HUNGER" which is one of the major factors that
determine the progress of a country . Moreover , due to the problem of basic necessities there is
a major problem with SDG 3 which is Good health and well being and thus this leads to no
clean water and sanitation and poverty . This chain of violation of SDG goals is the reason for
countries like Central African Republic to be poor . This also causes their population to not get
quality education and furthermore leads to less productivity which impacts the progress of the
country and finally the economical status .

On the other hand , According to the UN a developed country like sweden which is a developed
country there is the satisfaction of 8 SDG goals and only 2 goals are not up to the level . In a
country like sweden where the average performance and progress is the highest in the world
has the ability to abide to almost all SDG goals whereas in a country like the Central African
Republic no SDG is followed and everything is much below the expected with one SDG even
being at 0 . Life on land in Central African Republic is the only SDG which determined the
progress at a standard level and thus this means that the progress is very low and slow . Also ,
if we compare the SDG Level Performance there is a large gap between the two countries
which also thus makes up identify that how developed a country is .

As rightly said by Gandhi Ji " Be the change you want to see" , I believe we are the
changemakers and we can make other people changemakers and Bordertests like SDGs are
the aim we have for developing countries to achieve . One solution to this problem is
international mechanisms like foreign direct investment and also technology sharing . Moreover
, a great solution can be global tax reform . This will also enable poor or underdeveloped
countries to fight tax evasion with the help of international investors . In conclusion , I can agree
that the international development goals are the key to determine the progress of a country
made by SDGs
