INTRODUCTION
 Every workday, Mr. Rico used to arrive to his office. His wife Mrs. Rico was surprise

because he came home early. Then they talk in the living room about the coming birthday of

their daughter Miss Bernarda Rico or Boo Boo which is her nickname will be having a debut.
 II.
SUMMARY

“DEBUT”
 One day, Mr. Rico came home early. Mrs. Rico greet him with kisses and says that he

came early that day. Then they began to talk about the 18 th birthday of their daughter whose

Miss Bernarda Rico or they used to call Boo Boo. On the other hand, Boo Boo suddenly

came out in the living room where her parents are having a meeting. Boo Boo greet her

mother and father with kisses. She tells to them what the story she read a while ago entitled

“The Voices of Silence” written by Andre Malraux. She admires Andre because of his

inherent brilliant mind and she wish that she could write like him. Then suddenly, Boo Boo

requested to her father to please buy the book. But Mrs. Rico immediately disagree because

there is more important than buying that book worth of hundred pesos her mother told her

that it is better if that money will be used in her 18 th birthday, but Boo Boo answered

immediately that she don’t have any interest and she don’t want to celebrate her birthday. All

she wants is the book. The controversy is still going on until Boo Boo walked out and go to

her room. After a few minutes a dress maker came to give the tailor made dress which is for

Mrs. Rico and for Boo Boo. Her parents have got also controversy about what she requested.

Her father decided to go and buy that book. Few minutes later, Boo Boo come out in her

room to get some papers in the drawer but the disagreement between her and her mother

strikes again. Mrs. Rico snatches the papers handling by Boo Boo. It is because Mrs. Rico

loose her temper. Boo Boo shocked and go back to her room. When Sally, the dress maker

leaved, Mr. Rico came together with the book. Mrs. Rico go to Boo boo’s room to show the

dress but Boo Boo was not in there. She saw an envelope and read it. She became lonely and

go to her husband to show the letter. Mr. Rico got shocked and go out to find Boo Boo.

THE STORY

CLIMAX
 Mrs. Rico got mad of what
Boo boo’s behaviour about her

CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Boo Boo requested Boo Boo go somewhere else

to buy her a book without asking her parents, instead

but her mother she leave an envelope containing a

EXPOSITION CONCLUSION

Mr. Rico came home early and Mrs. Rico bows as she being

he had got meeting with his shocked then cry while Mr. Rico

STORY

Elisa Tabunar is a graduate of Columbia University. She is at home at Spanish,

French, and German. “Debut”, one of her best-known works, has been played in many

campuses in the country.

 Based on the webster’s dictionary debut defines as a first appearance or a formal

entrance into society. Some girls looks forward to their debut party.
