The diagram demonstrates a proposed design for a modern

landfill for domestic waste purposes. (simple )

Overall, the design clarifies a 4-stages process to get rid of the
household waste in which construction is divided into two phases,
while the use and closure represent the third and fourth phases.
Describing the landfill construction, there is a man-made hole dug
in a natural rock that is lined with a clay followed by a synthetic
substance as the most inner layer.(complex) Furthermore,
multiple drainage pipes are inserted in the hole with a drainage
tank dug in the center of the landfill.( compound )
Phase three shows the landfill when it becomes loaded with
liquid and solid household waste to start disposal process, using
the complex system structured of pipes and tank lying over the
clay.( compound )
Finally, in the last phase, the landfill is evacuated from its contents
of waste, whereas the gas exhaust is evaporated in special out
pipes.(complex)
