EVANGELIST

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the


soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making

Philip the evangelist, who was one
of the seven, and stayed with him.

“Evangelist” literally means “A
messenger of good news.”
Vincent defined as “a traveling
missionary.”

“Evangelist” appears as a noun three
times in the New Testament, but as a
verb form over FIFTY times—meaning
“to proclaim the good news.”

under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians,

Every believer is called to share the
Gospel. We are all ambassadors for
Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20).
But there was also a distinct
“charisma” or gift of the evangelist.
Evangelists are a gift from Christ to His
church (Ephesians 4:11).

1. To God
- surrendered
- available
- filled with Holy Spirit
- be God’s messenger of the
Good News

the Gospel

- equip and build it up

And He Himself gave some to be apostles,


some prophets, some evangelists, and some
pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the
saints for the work of ministry, for the
edifying of the body of Christ...
