Personal Philosophy of Practical Nursing

My nursing philosophy is that nurses should advocate for their patients and provide

comprehensive care. Nurses are in charge of maintaining public safety as well as promoting

health and wellbeing. Therefore, they have a professional obligation to participate in initiatives

that promote a patient-centered safety culture. As a nurse, you must establish your values in

order to respect the values of others, whether they are your patients, colleagues, or others you

interact with regularly. You may effectively advocate for your patients if you recognize these

principles, as well as the values of your patients. Kindness, delivering safe, compassionate, and

ethical care, and accountability should all be among these ideals. The moral concept of

faithfulness and respect for the patient's dignity, worth, and self-determination underpins

accountability. To create a trusting environment for both the nurse and the patient, nurses must

respect the privacy and confidentiality of their patients. Nurses and patients can improve their

outcomes by establishing a trusting nurse-client relationship that allows for improved

communication. Another obligation for nurses is to educate their patients on improving,

maintaining, or restoring their health. Clients who are aware of these healthy practices are more

likely to follow through with their treatment plan. This promotes health and wellbeing, increases

care quality, and aids individuals in making informed use of available healthcare resources by

including people in health and care decisions. People's lives improve when they participate in

their health and treatment. Human dignity, integrity, autonomy, altruism, and social justice are

examples of societal values. Being aware of these values and incorporating them into practise

will have an impact on patient safety. By following the nursing metaparadigm beliefs, values and

principles are established as it addresses at all levels. I aim to acquire knowledge and integrate
clinical skills to provide patient-centered care, patient safety, accessibility, effectiveness, and

equal quality of treatment. I aspire to obtain the character of a nurse who makes a positive

difference in people's lives by living out my values, beliefs, and knowledge every day.
