3 Attention-Grabbing Social Media Hooks that

Get People to Stop Scrolling!

Cindy Ashton & Christina Daves

The first sentence of your social media posts is what people see and if you
don’t grab their attention, they will scroll right past you. Same goes for your
images… it is essential to put words on your images that entice people to read
your post or watch your video.

Here are 3 ways you can grab attention:

1. Intrigue

People love to solve mysteries. They want to know “what happened?”

Examples:

● The craziest thing happened today…

● I walked out my door and was completely shocked…
● It was him.... The man who saved my life.

2. Unusual

What can you say that makes your audience think, “I’ve never heard of this?”
It makes them want to know more.

Examples:

● Want a better sex life? Try moringa. (makes you want to know what
‘moringa’ is)
● If you have a ‘vocal fry,’ it will lose you credibility, sales and influence.
(makes you want to learn more to make sure you don’t have a vocal fry)
● What’s a better investment? A Rai Stone or Real Estate? (Now you
want to know what the heck is Rai Stone)
3. Opposition

What are the trends? What is everyone talking about? Do you have a point of
view or an opinion that is opposite or delivers a fresh perspective on the topic?
If so, play with opposition.

Examples:

● Is clean eating really clean?

● Confidence is overrated when it comes to being great at sales.
● Your thoughts DON’T create your reality.
