Subject: Request for Cost Extension of Implementation Agreement (IA) No. 40253421/2 on
Implementation of Skills Development Programmes.

Dear Ms. Kejser,

Greeting from Bangladesh Sweden Polytechnic Institute, Kaptai- Rangamati!

International Labour Organization (ILO) and Bangladesh Sweden Polytechnic Institute signed an
Implementation Agreement (IA) from 28 th July 2019 to 30 September 2021 implement skills
development, RPL,entrepreneurial skills training for the youths and some other activities. The contract
is going to expire on 30 September 2021.The total contract value was BDT. 22,354,100 and we have
received BDT. 20,94,800 till date and total expenditure till date is BDT 15,899,714. The expected
expenditure until September 2021 will be BDT 19,519,245( approximately) and remaining unspent
will be BDT 1,406,100 (approx.). As of 15 August 2021, we have trained 405 trainees for certification
courses (NTVQF), assessed 210 industry workers through RPL programand trained 61 potential
entrepreneurs on entrepreneurship development training.

COVID 19 pandemic has been seriously affecting the project interventions since March 2020.
Considering the COVID 19 situation, the institute has been continuing some activities maintaining
health and hygiene. As a result, institute has been facing trouble to continue face-to-facetraining of the
trainees.As an alternative way, the institute is continuing online theoretical class and monitoring them
to develop their skills and planned to organize online entrepreneurship development training.

Considering this circumstances, we are requesting you to amend the contract as cost until April 2022
to achieve the targets of the project.
