Test I. Direction: Answer the following intelligently. Please write legibly and neatly.

1. How do the different approaches and methods in language teaching provide in

teacher’s development?

Answer: The different approaches and methods in language teaching provide in

teacher’s development because these serves as a guide for a teacher to conduct an
effective teaching style. These helps a teacher to choose which approach or method in
teaching language is applicable to a particular learning environment and learners
because sometimes it requires not only one approach or method to use in teaching thus
these help a teacher to improve his/ her overall teaching style because these approaches
and methods also need to fit his/ her unique and particular way of teaching. These also
contributes to a teacher’s development because as a foundation to work with in honing
your own particular teaching craft and I believe that is very important as a teacher to be
known for your own unique way and not a copy of other teachers.

2. How do you feel the language teaching profession will move ahead in the future?

Answer: I believe that language teaching profession will move in a lot of good ways
ahead in the future especially here in our country because we know that we tend to keep
up with the latest trends and now that globalization is very evident a lot of influences from
other countries are rapidly seeping ways especially in terms of language. English
language is not the only language that we are quickly getting accustomed to we are also
in love with learning Korean and Japanese language given that these countries are
dominating the shows that we watch. In this sense I believe that language teaching will
be more diverse in terms of the language that future teachers will be teaching and that
learning a language in the future can also be a trend and I believe these will provide yet
more opportunities across borders around the globe continuing to shrink the world that
we feel is already getting smaller.

3. How do you handle a learner who has a problem in reading comprehension?

Answer: For me, I will handle a learner who has a problem in reading comprehension by
teaching this learner that schema plays an important role on how one can read a text with
comprehension because this is the organized knowledge that an individual has about
people, places, things and events that serves as trigger to make connections between
what they already know and what knowledge is given in the text. Allocating extra time in
teaching this learner how to read as well as continuous practice in finding context clues
will also be beneficial because reading comprehension requires that and as a teacher I
need to give my best and put a lot of effort because I know that it is going to be for the
best interest of my student.
4. What is the beauty of language teaching?

Answer: The beauty of language teaching is in the language itself because language is
a very wonderful and beautiful thing alone and teaching it doubles that because through
language we can express ourselves and we can be ourselves. It is not only a tool for
communication but also a connection that links us to every person here in the world we
live in because language makes everything better. It serves as a way for a lot of people
to fully express who they are and what they are by different forms of arts that requires
language as a passage. It is therefore why I think that the beauty of teaching language is
the language itself because without the world will be in total chaos and people will not be
able to understand each other and will not be able to express different emotions that
makes us humans.

5. Which is more important, the essential skills in life you’ve learned to develop on
you own or the artificial structure in college about the real life? Explain.

Answer: For me, the essential skills in life that you’ve learned to develop on your own is
more important than the artificial structure in college about the real life because that is the
reality of life it is not about the picture perfect books that we read and life is so much
more vast than the four corners classroom that college is all about not everything that we
learn in school can be use in real life these learning only serves as artificial structure
which give us a gist of what real life really is it is not the totality, after all life is all about
survival it takes more than intelligence to survive in a world where every day is a battlefield
it is true that wits and approach in life pays more than degree it is therefore not shocking
that even if someone did not graduate through college can be a millionaire. It is what life
is at the end of the day what really matters is hard- work, perseverance and how badly
you want something and how passionate you are with something it is what drives us to
strive and be better and thus why I believe that essential life skills are more important
because it can be put to use considering that life has no rules because you make your
own rules and these experiences and skills that you developed and learned from are what
will make you different and uniquely you.
