Welcome to Arequipa the beautiful white city

ADVENTURE-PERU is inviting you to our majestic city of Arequipa in Peru, come
and enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience that offers you the different places of
this city that is located on the slopes of the imposing Misti Volcano in the southwest of
Peru.
Arequipa is a city that has incredible places to walk and do some adventure sports. In
the city you can visit the Santa Rosa monastery, La Mercad church and the San Agustin,
UNSA museums, etc., Then you can go to the traditional viewpoint of Yanahuara to
better appreciate the beautiful landscapes. But if you like adventure, you can go rafting
on the Chili River, go bungee jumping in the Chilina Valley, climb in Callalli or ride a
bike up the mountain and then camp there. You can also go trekking in the Colca
Canyon.

Our beautiful white city has many tourist attractions like: The Misti Volcano, The
Yanahuara lookout point, The Sillar Quarries, among others. And in the Plaza de Armas
there is a beautiful and antique Cathedral of Gothic style and around it there are some
colonial buildings, there is a big monastery called Santa Catalina and interesting
museums like the cathedral museum, the Andean sanctuaries museum or the municipal
museum. Also, there is a small zoo of alpacas and llamas with a quiet park Selva Alegre
park and an artificial lake in the center. There are a lot of hotels, restaurants and
shopping centers a bit expensive but very good. In Arequipa also there is a modern
airport and there aren’t any bus stations near.

Also, In the city there are a lot of busy shopping centers where you can buy some nice
things. There is a handicraft gallery in front of the Cathedral the gallery Tumi de Oro,
where you can buy nice souvenirs like: ceramics, textiles and works of art. Then
walking two blocks to the right on Ejercito avenue is the Cayma Mall and next to it is
the Real Plaza shopping center where there are different department stores and all of
them are open from 8:30 am to 22:00 pm. Also, there is a big Central market behind the
district municipality where you can buy a lot of cheap things.
ROSELY:
And finally, you can not go without enjoying the delicious Arequipa gastronomy. In
my opinion there are a lot of good restaurants in front of San Francisco square like the
Zig Zag restaurant, the Gaston Acurio restaurant or the Dimas restaurant, where you can
taste exquisite typical dishes like: cuy chactado, rocoto relleno, chupe de camarones and
the famous solterito arequipeño. All of these dishes include in their preparation chili
pepper, cheese, meat, milk, butter, potatoes, onions and parsley. You can also taste
some of the delicious and exotic desserts from Arequipa like: cheese ice cream,
pumpkin torrejas or fritters. And if you want to enjoy a refreshing chicha you can take a
taxi and go to the Plaza de Armas where there is a Chicha del Guiñapo party. There
everyone can drink and share this traditional drink.
