Instrumentation:

1. Pretest/Post Test

Before the treatment the researchers will administer a reading


comprehension test with eight distinct passages with 45 multiple-
choice questions to determine the students level of reading
comprehension. After the treatment the researchers will be
distributed a post test to determine the progress of the
students. The purpose of the post-test is to determine if the
treatment is effective by comparing the results of the post-test
to the results of the pre-test.

2. Meta Comprehension Strategy Index questionnaire.

The questionnaire was divided into sections;

PART I consists of questions about what students should think


about before reading.

The second set of questions in PART II asks students what they


can do to improve their comprehension while reading and,

PART III is a series of questions that ask students what they can
do to improve their comprehension.

The researchers will identify the level of the students' reading


comprehension using these questions, and they will be able to
interpret the effects of the Meta Comprehension Strategy Index-
based reading program on the reading comprehension of grade 7
students after using it.
