1) Two of the multinational companies were BMW and Volkswagen
2) It helped to export cars into other countries like: Hong Kong, Australia and japan.
It also helped create new jobs and even more jobs in the car industry

3) In my opinion South African government should continue to support investment by

multinational businesses especially car industry, because now a days south
Africa is being used by two main city’s Port Elizabeth and East London. BMW has
invested over 1 million Rand developing even more its Rosslyn plant near
Pretoria. BMW has developed 40.000 3-series that has been exported to many
countries for example: Britain, Germany, Japan and many others. Another benefit
to the south African government is that the population has been given over 900
jobs locally and 18.000 jobs in the car industry. Volkswagen had also a huge
impact in the south African government because the car company has been
looking for 1300 workers to replace.
All of this has impacted the government in a positive way for example the
extra incomes created by the industry help to boost other local industries such
as retailing and house construction.
