Due to its light weight components, Gyproc partition systems achieve reduced loads as opposed to concrete or masonry
block wall systems. With weights as low as 2okg/m•, structural engineers claim that saving s in excess of 15% on the
cost of structural members and foundations are possible when lightweight Gyproc specifications are incorporated at
the design stage.

Whilst a typical drywall installation will outperform it's masonry equivalents, a high performance partition at 1oomm
will outperform a masonry wall at twice it's thickness. Experience has found that the gain in residential floor area due
to the adjustable thickness of a drywall construction system tends to increase the useable residential floor area by
4-6%, greatly increasing the le-table I saleable value of the building..

Gyproc Drywall systems reduce the amount of space required for storage of materials either in or outside of the building.
Due to the reduction in vehicular activity site risks associated with traffic are minimised. Scaffolding required for
blockwork installation is load-bearing and required on both sides of all walls being erected. Consequently the time and
cost involved is significantly large and furthermore the site typica I ly becomes overly congested and untidy with
scaffolding and debris.
