 How to get it?

 Card will be sent to your German address.
 Do you already have a German address registered in the Campusmanagement-system?

 YES  The CAU card should be sent to you automatically.

 NO  Change your address in the Campusmanagement-system. After that, please inform my colleague Ms. Stammer that you now
have the German address and that you would like the CAU card to be sent to the new address: jstammer@uv.uni-kiel.de.

What to bring:

 Registration form

 confirmation of accommodation provider (the

tenancy agreement is not sufficient)

 identity card, temporary identity card, substitute

identity card, recognized and valid passport or
corresponding passport replacement document (§ 23
paragraph 1 BMG)

 In case of registration by an authorized person

additionally the handwritten signed power of attorney
of the persons obliged to register and one of the
above mentioned identity documents of the
authorized person.

 Additionally, if you are moving in from abroad:

 Marriage certificate, if applicable
 in the case of children: Birth certificate.

Application for a Residence Permit / VISA

 EU and EEA nationals: Do not require a residence permit in Germany.

 Nationals from third countries (NON-EU)

must apply for an appointment with the responsible immigration office after entry and registration at the City Hall in order
to obtain a residence permit. However, in order to apply for an appointment, you must prove that you already have an
appointment to register at the relevant City Hall, as this determines which immigration office will be responsible for you.

 If you have an appointment for registration at the City Hall in Kiel, you should also make an appointment at the Kiel
Immigration Office by sending an email to zuwanderungsabteilung@kiel.de. In your email be sure to include your family
name, your given name, your date of birth and the reason for the appointment.

Confirmation of Arrival

1. Send us a template from your university via e-mail.

2. If you do not have such template, we can provide you with one.
3. Send us a proof of your arrival (e.g. plane ticket, train ticket,…).
4. We will sign it and send it back to you.

 Try to hear as many courses as possible in the first two weeks!

 Talk to the lecturers if you can partake in his/her course

 Talk with your university about ECTS for your (newly added) course(s)

 Change Learning Agreement („during the mobility“)

 Upload changed LA on Online Platform (Mobility-Online)

 Ask your university, if they need to have your changed LA

Please upload Learning Agreement „Before the Mobility“, if you haven‘t done so!
Try not to miss too many lectures!
Participation in lectures without exam

If there is no examination: talk to

the lecturers, so you can still have a
„Teilnahmeschein“ (certificate of
participation)!

 Make sure to clarify this at the beginning of the semester.

ERASMUS students: Extension of your stay

Steps to follow:
• Ask at your home university if you can extend your stay
• Inform us about your extension
• Plan your Learning Agreement for the next semester

• Enrolment for summer semester:

• You will be asked via your STU-Mail-Account to pay the fee
for the next semester (approx. in December)

• Accommodation
• Make sure to extend your contract as well
