Start By:
A. Remove the track roller frame. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Roller Frame -
Remove" for the correct procedure.
B. Remove the retainer (pivot shaft). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Retainer (Pivot Shaft)
- Remove" for the correct procedure.
Personal injury can result from performing service on the track roller
frame.

The heavy assembly can fall if using an incorrect hoist to lift the load.
Be sure the hoist has the correct capacity to lift a heavy assembly.
Approximate weight of the body assembly is given below.
NOTICE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during
performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair
of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers
before opening any compartment or disassembling any component
containing fluids.
1. Place the track roller frame on a level surface. Support each end of the track roller frame with
the track guides.

When these components are removed, the components are damaged or
destroyed.

2. Inspect bearings (1) on each side of the track roller frame for wear and for damage. Remove
the two bearings from the track roller frame, if necessary.

3. Use a hoist to position the track roller frame on wood blocks. Remove Tooling (A) .
4. Mark the track idlers, the caps, and the shims, so that the components are assembled in the
original locations.
5. Remove the idlers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Idler - Remove" for the correct
procedure.

6. Mark the track rollers, the caps, and the track roller frame, so that the single flange rollers and
the double flange rollers are installed in the original locations.

7. Use a strap and a suitable lifting device in order to support track roller (4) .
Note: The single flange track roller weighs 88 kg (195 lb). The double flange track roller
weighs 98 kg (215 lb).
8. Remove four bolts (2), the two washers and two caps (3). Remove the track roller from the
minor bogie.

10. Remove bolts (6), the washers and track guides (5) from the major bogies.

11. Use a variable speed drill to remove plug (7) and rubber stopper (9) from each end of cartridge
pin (8) .

12. Install Tooling (B) on the major bogie. Use a strap and a suitable lifting device in order to
suspend Tooling (B). Remove the cartridge pin.
14. Repeat Steps 11 through 13 for the remainder of the minor bogies.

15. Install Tooling (C) between the track roller frame and the major bogie in order to hold the
components in place during the removal of the cartridge pins.

16. Use Tooling (D) to remove retaining ring (11) from each side of the track roller frame.

17. Install Tooling (E) to plate (12). Remove plate (12) from each side of the track roller frame.

18. Use a variable speed drill to remove plug (13) and rubber stopper (15) from each end of
cartridge pin (14). Remove plugs (16) from each side of the track roller frame.

19. Use a strap and a suitable lifting device in order to support major bogie (17) .

20. Install Tooling (B) on cartridge pin (14). Use a strap and a suitable lifting device in order to
suspend Tooling (B). Remove the cartridge pins. Remove the major bogie.
21. Repeat Steps 15 through 20 for the remainder of the major bogies.

22. Remove bolts (18), the washers and pad assemblies (19) from the track roller frame and from
the major bogies.
23. Remove the front track roller frame from the rear track roller frame. Refer to Disassembly and
Assembly, "Front Track Roller Frame - Remove" for the correct procedure.
24. Remove the track adjuster. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Adjuster - Remove"
for the correct procedure.
25. Remove the recoil spring. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Recoil Spring - Remove" for
the correct procedure.
