The Duterte Administration’s Response to COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected a lot of lives. Some countries already
minimized the damage, but some didn’t. There are still a lot of countries that struggle
with dealing with the virus, including the Philippines. Duterte’s administration is very
poor in terms of its response to the pandemic. When will our lives return to normal with
this kind of governance?

Duterte tackled the COVID-19 pandemic unplanned. A lot of people, including

me, had a bad reaction to the creation of dolomite beach. Instead of focusing on health
and safety policies, they created this beach which is not right because a lot of people
are unhappy. The vaccine situation with Sec. Duque did not help the emotional health of
the people. The general people will be greatly benefitted if the vaccine deal was closed
at that time.

All in all, Duterte’s administration failed the Filipino people. Few actions are made
to help the whole community that they govern. Some actions were not well thought out if
they will cause happiness for the Filipino people. With this kind of response, it may take
a few years to get back to normal. Few years that the Filipinos will have to endure the
struggles brought by the pandemic.
