4. RECOMMENDED MIX PROPORTIONS:

Table 3.2 indicates that for the given specifications and design input data, Trial Mix-2 is most
satisfactory from the workability and strength point of view. Hence, the proportions of Trial
Mix-2 are recommended. The recommended mix proportions are as follows

Cement Content : 230 kg/m3

Fine Aggregate Content : 715 kg/m3
Coarse Aggregate Content : 1075 kg/m3
Water Content : 143 kg/m3
Water/Cement Ratio : 0.62
Mix Proportion by Weight : 1 : 3.11 : 4.67

 Calculation of Volumetric Batching:

Cement Content : 230/1246 = 0.184m3

Fine Aggregate Content : 715 1793 = 0.399 m3
Coarse Aggregate Content : 1075/1418 = 0.758 m3
Water Content : 143/1000 = 0.143 m3 (143 liters)
Mix Proportion by Volume : 1:2.17:4.12
