and it should not be performed by anybody. In the context of abortions,
utilitarianism holds that all unwanted pregnancies and pregnancies that cause
physical, mental, emotional, or financial distress should be terminated by
abortion. The utilitarian views society as a whole, rather than the individual as the
party whose pleasure is to be achieved or lost. The utilitarian eventually sees this
as a non-issue, since the true problem is resolving all moral concerns from a
community position and appropriating the maximum amount of usefulness to the
vast majority of people.
