THE ADVOCACY OF “I AM HUMAN WITH RIGHTS”

I. INTRODUCTION

A. BACKGOUND
Human Rights are entitlements that every single one of us needs to have. It is a dignified
and fulfilled life to participate fully in society. Human Rights are given equally to everyone since
we are all human, they cannot be taken away from us, and they are all connected. Failure to protect
someone is right can lead to abuse of other rights; human rights are underpinned by a set of shared
values that have been prevalent in societies, civilizations, and religions throughout history. We
should acknowledge that there are not just two genders, women, and men, who experience various
human rights abuses, but lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queers, and the list go on. Fairness,
respect, equality, dignity, and autonomy are the values included not just for two genders but all. It
is also preeminent to perceive that children experience human rights abuses and are affected by
them differently.
The Modern Human Rights era can be remembered as a struggle to end discrimination,
slavery, genocide, and government oppression. After WW I or World War I, many people declared
and accompanied the international system, including many scholars, activists, and some national
leaders, to protect the most fundamental rights and human freedoms. The efforts to secure
fundamental rights and human freedoms, diminish the government's power that they sometimes
uphold to use against other countrymen, and violate these rights were insufficient. That is why they
adopted a global instrument that will help enshrined human rights. Hence, the Universal Declaration
of Human Rights (UDHR) was made as part of the United Nations' emergence (UN).
Cultural Rights, economic, Basic Civil, and Political was the first UDHR documented that
all human beings should enjoy internationally. The vote to adopt the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights was considered a triumph as its unified diverse nations and conflicting political
regimes. However, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was not legally permanent, but it
carries significant moral weight to serve the world. The United Nations (UN) drafted two
settlements on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) to give the human rights listed in
the Universal Declaration of Human Rights the force of law. Politics prevented the creation of a
consolidated treaty, the two settlements that the UDHR had that are interrelated, and the right that
contained the settlement that has the fulfillment of the rights contained in the other. However, the
division of rights between the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and Economic,
Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) is artificial. It reflects the global ideological divide during
the Cold War.

B. STATEMENT OF THE PURPOSE

The purpose of this study is to help people have a more open eye for the fair and clean
justice system every Filipino deserves. Human rights describe equal rights and freedom for
everybody by being human and without distinction of race, color, sex, language, religion, political,
or other opinions. Human rights are defined as freedom from unlawful imprisonment, torture, and
execution and regarded as belonging fundamentally to all persons. The term freedom of
expression is usually used synonymously but includes any act of seeking, receiving, and imparting
information or ideas, no matter the medium used. Human rights within the Philippines are a topic
of concern and controversy. The right to freedom of speech is not absolute in our country, and
therefore the right is usually subject to limitations. The right to freedom of expression is
recognized as a human right under Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and
recognized in international laws in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights
(ICCPR). That states that everybody shall have the proper to carry opinions without interference,
and everybody shall have the true freedom of expression.
C. METHOD
Since we are still in the middle of pandemic, the team are not allowed to execute public
events or join with organizations who are currently fighting for human rights, our health is still our

CONCLUSION

With our advocacy, we might help the community spread their right as a human being. They might
be abused without them knowing. We acknowledge embodying critical values in our society, such as
fairness, equality, dignity, and respect. It is essential means of protection for all of us, especially those who
may face isolation, neglect, and abuse. Without opening these kinds of conversations, Human rights will
always be abused by those who have power. Tying up with people is one of the best ways to be reminded
that human rights issues affect not just those who are uneducated but everyone, and we all must be
responsible and at the helm for creating real change. In conclusion, competing in human rights situations
will unavoidably arise in so many contexts. We believe that human rights should include those who are
propertied people and distribute equally, even uneducated individuals. Educators, Employers,
Professional and Non-Professional, and other responsible pares should be covered by the code and have
the following responsibility for nourishing an inclusive environment free from any harassment and
discrimination. Everywhere in the world where everyone is right should be uplifted and respected. The
right for people to vote for whomever their heart desires, to wear what they want to wear, freedom from
torture and slavery, the right to have an education and to have decent work, and freedom of opinion and
expression are some of the fundamental human rights to take care of people against abuse by those who
are taking advantage of their power. Without these fundamental human rights, we do not believe that
people can be truly free from the abusers.
