It consisted of Coal, Gas, Naptha and Oil, out of which major chunk of cost is coal

As it is evident from the graphs, the fuel cost has been in an increasing trend in the last five years.

Employee Benefits –

Salary and wages of employees, Staff Welfare Expenses, Provident Funds, out of which major chunk
of cost is salary and wages

2020 – 2021: 8.5 %

2019 – 2020: 7.8 %

2018 – 2019: 7.3 %

2017 – 2018: 8.2 %

2016 – 2017: 8.8 %

Employee benefits has increased in the last year only, otherwise it was in a decreasing trend.

Depreciation Charges –

On plants, property and machinery & Intangible assets.

2020 – 2021: 17.8 %

2019 – 2020: 13.8 %

2018 – 2019: 11.5 %

2017 – 2018: 12.8 %

2016 – 2017: 12.0 %

Depreciation charges has increased in the last 5 years from 12 % to 17.8%

Finance Costs –

Bonds, Foreign Currency term loans, Rupee term loans, cash credit, commercial papers, other
borrowing costs. Major chunk of cost is rupee term loans
