To help you prepare a presentation for Oral Defense, here are

some checklist.

Slide 1: Title page

o Start with a slide that shows the working title of your project. Also include proponents’
full name, and adviser's name.

Slide 2: Topic Background

o Provide details on why you choose this topic, perhaps a brief history, if applicable

Slide 3: Problem Statement

o Give a clear and explicit statement of the problem.


o What are the reasons you are doing the study?
o Is there a gap in the research this project will address?
o You can use more than one slide for this section

Slide 4: General and Specific Objectives of the Study

o Provide a general objective of the study. In most cases, general objectives is a


restatement of your working title.
o Make sure specific objectives are SMART.

Slide 5: Significance of the Study

o Enumerate here the beneficiaries of your study.

Slide 6: Scope and Delimitation of the Study

o Discuss here the scope and limitation of your study.

Slide 7: Concept of the Study

o This can be represented by a figure that will show the whole concept of your project

Slide 8: Proposed Methodology

o Why the chosen method is appropriate for your research? You might want to present
how each specific objectives will be addressed using your proposed methodology.
o Provide specifics on your proposed methodology which include but not limited to 1)
developmental process model 2) project cost 3) Gantt chart of activities. You can use
more than one slide for this section.

Slide 9: Expected output

o From your proposal, enumerate the expected outputs?

Slide 10: References

o Provide a list of references you used so far in APA format. Just keep this list in one
slide.

Reminders:
 Be academically, mentally and physically prepared for the oral defense
 Have a backup plan just in case technology fails
 Be confident!
