JCINSP MARVI A DIAZ, MA’AM. TO OUR CITY JAIL DEPUTY
WARDENS, JCINSP FERDINAND G MALABO, SIR. JO3
MARICEL D PEDRO, MA’AM. TO MY FELLOW JAIL
OFFICERS, JO1/TRAINEES, AND TO OUR BELOVED PDL, A
PLEASANT MORNING TO ALL OF YOU.

TODAY IS THE THIRD MONDAY FOR THE MONTH OF

DECEMBER AND AS THE END OF 2021 IS APPROACHING, I
WANT TO SHARE TO ALL OF YOU THE MOST APPLICABLE
WORD TO GIVE EMPHASIZE IN THIS TIME OF THE YEAR.
THE WORD “GRATITUDE”.

Gratitude is defined as, the quality or feeling of being grateful or

thankful. Gratitude is a conscious, positive emotion one can express when
feeling thankful for something, whether tangible or intangible.

It is said that, the key for being happy and contented is to keep
gratitude at the forefront of our lives.
It’s not just thinking about how thankful we are to have all that we
have. It’s about living out that gratitude through the simple things we do
every day. Gratitude is the manifestation of love, devotion and
commitment towards those who mean the most to you. It encompasses
shared experiences, shared love and an understanding that the universe has
conspired to keep us happy, and help us understand how connected we are
to others.

Gratitude just swells in our hearts, a warm feeling of happiness and

gratefulness towards a person, even to group of people like our co-workers,
friends and other circumstances. Gratitude is something that must be
expressed by us every day, especially in this time of pandemic.

"We are still alive." Buhay tayo! Dapat yon ipagpasalamat! We are
doing our usual routines.
Seeing our parents,
our wives, our husband, our children, our brothers and sisters. Sharing a
meal together and connecting with everyone is something to be grateful for.

We have our jobs. May trabaho tayo na bumubuhay sa ating pamilya,

dapat yon ipagpasalamat. We have our colleagues, mga katrabaho, our
extended family. We have our passion to serve other people and be the
recipient of their thanks and gratitude. We can always help those we can
reach. Not only we can feel grateful but we are also vessels of one's
gratitude and humble and heartfelt thanks. At dapat din natin

We have time. Time to smile, time to try again, time to see the beauty
of living, time to conquer our dreams and time and opportunity to serve our
fellow Filipinos. We have the time to enjoy the rain as it pours, to enjoy the
journey of rising up and overcoming fears, challenges and limitations. We
have time and we must ALWAYS be grateful for that.
tayong umaga. Nakatayo at Nakakapagusap. Na dapat nating
ipagpasalamat.

All of us must remember that, Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.

It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can
turn a meal into a feast, simpleng ulam gaya ng tuyo o itlog pag
nyo ng pamilya mo, Gratitude turn a house into a home, a stranger into a
friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and
creates a vision for tomorrow.

Let us all exercise gratitudeGratitude towards men, work and most of

all to God. .
Because in everything that has
happened, sa lahat ng nangyari, He made us stronger, pinatatag nya tayo,
and He comforted us when we needed a shelter, inaruga, kinalinga nung
walang wala tayo.

And to end my speech for this morning, just like what Psalms 107:1
says, Let us start each day with a grateful heart. 💗
Once again, good morning and thank you!
