Gender Equality in Home & Workplace
It has been a century since people have been talking about gender equality. But change does not
happen overnight. Women are still facing hardships now for various reasons like sex, class,
ability, race, and many other factors. Even today, gender discrimination happens in job
interviews. According to many sources, a man has 20% more chances than a woman of getting
the job despite having fewer qualities than the woman (Arced, 2015).

Gender equality in the workplace is related to economic growth and national productivity. It
indicates that employees of all genders should get equal opportunities, pay, rewards, and other
facilities. In the workplace, it can be seen that there are various types of organizations that do not
offer equal pay to men and women, which is a matter of sorrow for a developing or developed
nation. Day by day, gender equality will be a hot topic for all organizations. In the workplace,
women are required to get equal scale, which needs to be ensured by the authority of a particular
organization. It is not easy to ensure this issue in one day. Those related authorities need to set a
great plan and development goal. Economic growth is the determinant of an effective developing
country. Working together, men and women can change the business environment, which will
reflect economic growth. So to achieve national economic growth at a satisfactory level, a
workplace should enroll the gender equality.

A recent survey shows that women want to get support from men in the home. If men support the
chores of home-related activities, women can easily complete all types of activities (Wright
Mills, 2014). Without getting support from men, women can complete home-related tasks, but
gender equality cannot be ensured. To assure this issue, a renowned author once said that
"charity begins at home." So the role and effectiveness of gender equality should start from
home, then every man and woman will be aware of these issues, which will reflect on the
national level growth, and the workplace will be flourished by effective output.

Sometimes, it can also be seen that women get oppressed and harassed in the workplace, which
isn’t acceptable for an organization. As a result, women are deprived of getting basic rights in the
workplace. For example, once only men could be a receptionist or managers. But nowadays
women are getting a chance to be a manager and receptionists. However, it is a rare number. But
awareness should be grown in the workplace, and anti-harassment and anti-oppression should be
enrolled in the workplace for a better environment that will improve the issue of gender equality
in the workplace (Calhoun, 2013).

The Decision-making role in the workplace of men and women should be equal. Some
organizations provide equal salaries to both genders. Because nowadays men and women are
working together to fulfill national development. But some organizations don't provide the same
salary to men and women, which shows gender inequality. So to get the national-level SDG goal
completed, men and women should work together and bear success for a particular nation. A
survey of the World Bank shows that if women get the same scale salary as men, national-level
income would be raised at $162 trillion, and the economy would rise rapidly (Cameron, 2015).

It is essential to understand the benefits of gender equality because achieving global economic
growth and national-level economic growth will help effectively. Some of those effective
benefits of gender equality in the workplace include it helping to boom the economy. Because if
women attended the paid work and earned equal pay for the work, it would improve the
economy. Gender equality is another essential for the economy because it improves productivity.
Gender equality in the workplace and home increased innovation. There is a great diversity of
views, and it promotes the value of diversity of views of business culture. Working balance gets
flexible, and the environment seems working friendly for both men and women. There are some
countries, and parental leaves are shared equally between men and women. The workforce gets
more stable when men and women work in the same environment and perform efficiently
(Chorzow, 2012).

After getting equal rights in the workplace, employees of different types of organizations are the
result because gender equality is effective for men and women. It also improved customer
targeting. Without having flexible work, equal pay, diverse hiring, and innovative activity,
customer targeting increases because of equality in the workplace. There are some sensation
workplaces where men cannot interact with women; women need to play the role. For example,
during a woman's surgery here women can understand all the internal symptoms more easily
than a man. So men and women need to keep those issues in mind to get gender equality.
Bearing this characteristic may help a company's reputation. Consumers care about the
company's ethics and social responsibility.
A recent study showed that gender biases could cause a $2.8 million loss of a national economy
for a country (Cohn, 2017). So to accelerate the national and global economy, every organization
and the home people should bear the gender equality environment for all sorts of betterment.

But to grab the national economy increased, women only seek equality, not perform as the
demand. Without coping with those issues, one can easily enrich a leadership mentality.
Leadership styles and mentality can reflect gender equality in the workplace (Evans, 2017). To
cope with those tending activities, women should be more careful and nurture internal talent for
better service outcomes. Increasing more mentors can help women to enrich national leadership.
The proper maintenance of women and men can keep a consistency to gift an effective economic
growth. Gender equality in the workplace and home is significant for better utilization of
resources, better productivity, a better life, and an end to stereotyping. Gender equality
effectively affects economic growth, which is significant, specifically in countries with higher
unemployment rates and less economic opportunity (Mulholland et al., 2018).
