The Workout This workout will do wonders for your guitar playing, I can assure you that if you stick to doing this 30 minutes a day, for as little as 2 weeks you will be astounded at the results. It is absolutely crucial that you complete this workout with a metronome. Not using one will cut down your progress massively. I do know that when you first try, playing to a metronome can be challenging, but stick with it. Practice the exercises separately, then only once they are flowing comfortably, put them to a metronome. Remember to warm up and stretch out your muscles appropriately to make sure you gain maximum results and reduce risk of pulling a muscle. 1am aware that at first you may find some of the exercises challenging, but this is all part of the process. Take your time and remember there is no race with this. If you find some of the exercises overwhelming, just consider this... You can play any song on that has ever been written on a guitar at a snails pace. Guaranteed... The following tablatures showing each exercise are only to assist you, to know exactly how to perform the exercises you need to watch each exercise video. 1. Learn all 12 exercises and get to know them fluently 2. Get use to practicing the exercises to a metronome at low speeds 3. Find your current BPM (Video 27) 4, Track your progress by writing down your BPM as you go in the Workout Progress Chart 5. Do the 30 minute workout schedule everyday for a minimum of 2 weeks 6. It is important that you document your progress so you can see yourself improving on paper. Progress is the best motivator so do not skip this step. Start with your ‘current BPM’ as per video 27 then increase your BPM speed by 2-3 per day. The difference is so small that you will barely notice that you are going any faster from the previous day, however the accumulative effect over time is huge. You should find playing at your current BPM easy and effortless, so after doing this for 2 months increasing your BPM by 3 per day you would be playing at 180BPM faster than what you started on, but still doing this new speed easily. This how is you develop real guitar speed and technique. Here are the tools, all you need to supply is the determination. This is what you need to do. All these exercises here are very easy for even a beginner to get down, and will still get you massive results in developing speed and guitar technique. Make sure you still do this exercise schedule to a metronome. This simplified version of the workout will still take 30 minutes to complete. Once you find this exercise schedule easy, then step up to the full schedule with all 12 exercises. The 6 exercises listed below still have their original number from the original schedule to make it easier when referring to the video for each exercise. Note: 60 Second rest between each exercise.
