Project: Equity Valuation – Report Writing

Marks: 20 Marks (10 Marks for Presentation + 10 Marks for Report Writing)

You are working as an equity analyst in the Stockiest Capital Management. You are assigned a sector
(according to your choice) out of which you need to select a company for fundamental analysis. Your
primary job to pitch top clients of the brokerage house. High net-worth individuals generally invest for
long term perspective i.e. next 5 – 10 years’ period. Therefore, you are required to write the report
where you cover the following sections: -

1. Investment Pitch (Summary)

2. Introduction of the company – Business model and Key product lines
3. Industry Analysis – Competitive positioning of the company among sector players
4. Financial Performance Analysis of last 5 years’ period.
5. Valuation methodology – whichever model apply for valuation.
6. Key risk factors associated with your valuation either for upside or downside.

Let briefly explain the each of the sector – Section 1) covers the everything of your report in a
comprehensive way for client to look at the report at a glance and understand everything.

Section 2) in this part you are going to write about the entire company history along with business
model where key revenue and cost drivers would be discussed with product portfolio.

Section 3) Industry analysis must be performed in terms of SWOT Analysis, Porters fiver forces model
and PESTLE (if needed). Complete overview of industry players and their market shares.

Section 4) Perform financial analysis for the last 5 – years in which covers the top ratios for investment
perspective along-with vertical and horizontal income statement, balance sheet and cashflow
statement.

Section 5) Explain the valuation methods which applied and fundamental justification of target price and
component of return generation.

Section 6) Highlight the key risk associated with this company which is very important for future
prospectus of the company.
