● The online application can be time-consuming. We strongly suggest applicants

by evaluating Applicants’ knowledge of particular areas of study

03/ Admission Quota
• The quota for local admissions is determined as 100 for each department.
- Scholarship based – 42
- Contract-based – 58
• The quota for international admissions is determined as 50 for each department.

※ In case the number of admitted students will not exceed 60% of the Admission Quota for a department,
this program will not be opened in the upcoming Fall 2022 semester.

04/ Things to Know Before Application


[ Application Process]

• You must make sure to input correct personal information and all other documents. When a whole
set of required documents are uploaded by you, the admissions office immediately starts
verification by checking all information you provided. Before the admissions office starts verification,
you can modify your data or documents. But, once your application is verified and approved, you
cannot change it.
• You are not permitted to submit multiple applications and will be disqualified for admission if found
doing so. Multiple applications are defined as having more than one registration number due to
submitting multiple applications.
• AU is not able to check the arrival status of application verification in your email. Thus, please
check your registered email until you get the message about your application’s successful
submission.
• The admissions staff reserves the right to require additional documents from you, should there be
any need to clarify the eligibility or verify the authenticity of the submitted materials. You are fully
responsible for any disadvantages there may incur due to errors and omissions in the information
provided in the application.

[ Admission and Registration]

• Successful Applicants who are expected to graduate from High Schools/Lyceum/College (Bachelor
applicants) must prove their graduation after the entrance exam results are released. If not, the
admission offer for you will be cancelled.
• If an admitted student wishes to select another university that offers additional selection, he/she
must contact AU (info@akfauniversity.org) as soon as possible and express to cancel the
registration at AU.
• If you get admission from two universities, you must choose one. You cannot enroll at two or more
universities at the same time. If you do not comply with this regulation, the admissions offer for you
will be cancelled.
• If you are a student at some other university, you have to leave or graduate from your current
university before the AU’s entrance date (September 12, 2021). Failure to comply with this
regulation will result in cancellation of the admissions offer for you.
• AU does not disclose any information related to admission decisions such as eligibility of each
applicant, the evaluation contents, and the reason for rejection or disqualification.
• Admissions offers will be cancelled if you are found to submit false information, fake documents, or
try unfair practice or cheating for admissions at any time during the application process. This rule
applies even after admission or enrollment at AU.

05/ Admissions Eligibility and Requirements
• Each applicant must meet the admissions eligibility for local admissions by July 1, 2022.
• If there is any ambiguity in admissions eligibility, the decision will be made by the Admissions
Committee.

1. Eligibility:

Both applicant and his/her parents should be citizens of Uzbekistan.


The requirement for applicant’s prior education:

• Undergraduate program: The applicant must hold a High school/Lyceum/College diploma or higher;
2. Proof of Language Proficiency:

• English Proficiency: TOEFL iBT 55, IELTS 5.5, Duo Lingo 90 or higher for Medical Studies
(Medical School, School of Pharmacy, School of Dentistry);
• English Proficiency: TOEFL iBT 50, IELTS 5.0, Duo lingo 80 or higher for other departments;
• The certificate must be valid at the date of submission;
• IEPTE(Akfa University Internal English Proficiency Testing Exam) is for those who do not have any
of the above English Proficiency Certificates. The applicants who scored more than 40% of highest
score in IEPTE will be allowed to take the entrance examination. Furthermore, those applicants who
passed the IEPTE will be directly accepted on a contract-basis to the Dept. of English Education.
3. Required Documents:
The scanned copies of the following documents must be attached to the online application form:

• Passport with the residence permit;


• Diploma from lyceum/college/high school or verification certificate including enrollment certificate
from lyceum/college/high school;
• Official English proficiency test certificate (IELTS/ TOEFL iBT/ Duo Lingo/IEPTE);
• The electronic photo was taken within the last three months – 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm.

06/ How to Apply
1 Proof of Language Proficiency (English, other languages not Compulsory
acceptable)

Proof of language proficiency is required as 1 or 2; test results must be acquired before June 27,
2022
1) English Proficiency: TOEFL iBT 55, IELTS 5.5, Duo lingo 90 or higher for Healthcare Studies
(Medical School, Dental School, School of Pharmacy)
2) English Proficiency: TOEFL iBT 50, IELTS 5.0, Duo lingo 80 or higher for other departments

3) Other official documents indicating proof of language proficiency

● School profile (if a school study is entirely in English, and in one of the following English
speaking countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize,
Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, St Kitts, and Nevis,
St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, United
States of America)
● IEPTE(Akfa University Internal English Proficiency Testing Exam). Those applicants who
scored more than 40 in the IEPTE will be allowed to take the entrance examination.

2 Online Application Compulsory


• The Application for Admission should be submitted from January 10 until July 1.
• Online applications can be completed using Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. Applicants
must be aware that they may encounter errors if other browsers are used when completing the
online application.
• Submission by e-mail or fax is not accepted.
• Your application is considered as “complete” if you receive a verification email from the
Admissions Office. You cannot cancel or change the Admissions Type or the Admissions
Program after your application is verified.
• You can change Personal Information and the uploaded files before they are verified by the
Admissions Office and the application deadline (17:00 July 27, 2022), except the Admissions
Type or the Admissions Program.
• Online application for the Fall 2022 intake must be completed by 17:00, July 1 (Fri), 2022
(Uzbekistan Standard Time).
3 Document Submission Compulsory

• Applicants, who have been admitted to AU, must submit the following original documents
during the registration period of 14 days.
✜ A certificate of diploma from Lyceum/College or an equivalent certificate from the school
where applicants have studied

07/ Admissions Criteria
Admissions decisions are made based on an overall score of the entrance examination for each
applicant, which are used to assess the applicant’s knowledge on particular areas of study depending
on each department. Each applicant must take two entrance examinations, one for contract and one
for the scholarship according to AU Admissions regulation, and the applicant’s knowledge of the
subjects is examined according to the following admissions criteria. Those applicants who scored
more than 40 out of 100 in the contract examination will only be allowed to take the scholarship
examination.

※ Entrance Exam total score is calculated by the sum of the subjects' scores in each Department
Exam Criteria mentioned above. Each subject is on a 100 points scale. The Minimum entrance score
of the exam shall be 50% of the highest score in that department. Applicants getting less than 50% of
the highest score shall not be admitted. Applicants will be ranked based on Entrance Exam scores
only, whereby 100 applicants will be admitted to the study program in the 2022/2023 academic year.
When some of the 100 successful applicants resign to enroll, the empty positions will be taken by
applicants who ranked 101 or lower.

08/ Scholarships
• Merit Scholarships: Top 42 applicants achieving high scores in the Entrance Exam will be
granted with the following types of merit scholarships for the first semester.

• Academic Excellence Scholarships: From the 2nd semester, the same amount of scholarship
as above will be granted to the top ranked 42 students who obtained highest total scores from all
subjects they studied.

• English Proficiency Scholarships: Up to 20% Scholarship is offered to students based on their


IELTS score and its equivalent in TOEFL or Duo Lingo.

● 5% Scholarship – Based on an IELTS score of 7.0


● 10% Scholarship – Based on an IELTS score of 7.5
● 15% Scholarship – Based on an IELTS score of 8.0
● 20% Scholarship – Based on an IELTS score of 8.5 - above

※ Students should apply for 5-10% scholarships every semester with a valid certificate. But,
students of 15-20% scholarship do not need to re-apply for EPS. One-time application is good for
the entire period of study at AU.

09/ Contract Basis


• The successful applicants who scored higher than 50% of the highest total score in the
department will be admitted on a contract basis.

※Applicants who have IELTS 5 or higher will be exempted from the contract-based entrance exam
and directly accepted to the Dept. of English Education and Dept. of Journalism. But, they have to
take the scholarship exam, if they want to compete for the merit scholarship. Also, the applicants
who passed the IEPTE will also be directly accepted on a contract-basis to the Dept. of English
Education and Dept. of Journalism.

10/ Things to Know When Admitted


• Admitted students should complete the enrollment process by paying the tuition fee within the
designated period. For applicants who fail to do so, the offer for admission will be cancelled.
• In case you cannot start studying at AU from Fall 2022, you can secure your status as a student
at AU by paying tuition during the enrollment period, and then you can file for a Leave of Absence.
When you return to school for a later semester, you do not have to pay tuition for the first

semester of returning.

11/ Tuition Fee
• The tuition fee for domestic students (citizens of Uzbekistan) shall be paid in UZS and
international students (foreign passport holders) in USD.
