Living With The Wild

Nobody likes an animal to be tamed. However, at the same time they’re not only smarter and quick
learners than the human kind but also far more adjusting.

Pteranodon, the animal that I’ve chosen is one of the most rebellious and dangerous creatures that
closely fall into the category of dinosaurs. Although they are toothless carnivores and there isn’t a
difference in size comparatively on a larger scale, the fear of getting attacked still remains. Pertaining to
this situation, I want my story to be more fictional and less believable to the readers.

Leaving this techno world behind, here I was 125 million years ago in the Western region of North
America, the arid land hugging the ocean. I was given 24 hours. 24 hours with a beautiful creature. He
was my responsibility for the time being which was a task, however the overall experience can’t be put
into words.

I woke up in the land of the free and home of the brave with a rebellious creature, sleeping like a baby,
having gigantic wings wrapped around him. As petrified as I was, my attention was dragged slightly more
towards the place where I was brought. An entire structure covered with timber beams and wood
ceiling slats on mud walls covering an area of really 1000 mt. sq. The form later made sense considering
it’s an arid region where the chances for rainfall are nearly zero. The light penetrated from giant wooden
louvers on the walls. I saw a cut out from one of the sides of the wall and moved out slowly. I was
parched and hungry, lost in this area. I had the Pacific Ocean in front of my eyes but not a single drop to
drink. So I started digging up the soil.

As I was struggling at it, the big creature came out helping me dig the soil with his clawed fingers and
made it simpler for me. I wasn’t scared anymore. He started to run and flew high in the sky, diving into
the ocean coming back with three huge fish in his elongated mouth. In the meantime I started collecting
stones, straw and wood to cook that meal for myself. Later, I went to freshen up in a literal infinity pool.

I started connecting with the animal. I spent most of the day time hunting together with him, sat on his
back and flew to different places saving the time to walk long distances, going all the way to the top of
the dormant volcanoes and Rocky Mountains. The afternoon was filled with activities such as diving and
swimming in the ocean. Other times I studied about the region and discovered places nearby and he
took rest from all the hunting we did together. I taught him how to swim and her naive self tried
teaching me how to fly. Can’t say we both were successful at it but it was the greatest 24 hours I spent.

At night, it got a little chilly, but tolerable. To keep me warm, she wrapped his thick wings around me
that kept me warm and called it a day.
