1. Do a library research on example of ornamental plants that spread aggressively across the
ASEAN region and forest trees considered as invasive.

Eichhornia, commonly called water hyacinths, was a polyphyletic genus of the aquatic flowering
plants family Pontederiaceae. Since it was consistently recovered in three independent
lineages, it has been sunk into Pontederia, together with Monochoria.

Limnocharis flava is a species of aquatic flowering plant which is native to Mexico, Central
America, South America, Cuba, Haiti and the Dominican Republic but widely naturalized in
southern and southeastern Asia: India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Burma, Thailand, Vietnam,
Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei and southern China.
Pistia is a genus of aquatic plants in the arum family, Araceae. It is the sole genus in the tribe
Pistieae which reflects its systematic isolation within the family. The single species it comprises,
Pistia stratiotes, is often called water cabbage, water lettuce, Nile cabbage, or shellflower.

2. As a students, propose a strategies to help save biodiversity in your locality.


In the quest to conserve biodiversity, it is compelling to reduce carbon footprints.
Afforestation, reusing, recycling, and reducing waste can contribute to protecting biodiversity
from further harm. The creation of wildlife sanctuary and biodiversity reserves can aid in the
natural restoration of biodiversity. Thus, for the survival of every species, including humans, we
must conserve biodiversity. We should set an example to inspire the next generation to follow
the same path.
