THEME: CHRISTIANITY ACROSS DISCIPLINE AND CULTURE

DAY 2-REFLECTION (NOVEMBER 20, 2021)

Our faith as a Filipino exemplifies within our devotion commencing a deep and solemn
appreciation in one and true god. The Spaniards have brought Catholicism to the Philippines by
colonizing the islands during the 16th century. Filipinos stand out for their divine fervor.
Filipino Catholic practice is extraordinarily material and physical, even among Catholic cultures,
built especially on devotion to Mary, the suffering Christ, the Santo Niño (Holy Child), and on
prevailing celebratory and penitential rituals experienced in a deep variety of Filipino
domesticated forms. Feasts like the Black Nazarene, which draws millions to the streets of
Manila in January, the Simbang Gabi novena that precedes Christmas, and the month-long Flores
de Mayo offering to Mary illustrate distinctively Filipino forms of devotion. Me and my family
is a full blooded Christian in all faith and conform an exceptional devotion to the lord. Just like
Dr. Gaspar stressed that Catholism is a belief that was rooted ages ago is still intact in Filipinos
lives and influences in the belief system of our faith is imposed manifested in our love for what
we belief. Throughout my life, my faith as a Christian catholic has formed the person that I am
today. That is one good reason why my Catholic faith matters to me. Another reason why my
Catholic faith is relevant to me is because it helps me realize what God is trying to reach with me
through others. As I have learned that God speaks through his people and guides them
unconditionally, my faith grew more extensive, and it will help me better appreciate what God is
trying to tell me through his people through being devoted to him. Besides encouraging me to
understand God’s message through others, my devotion and faith allow me to trust in God’s
plan. As one powerful deity, God has a plan we are all aware of for everything and every person
in this world, and my faith allows me to trust in this plan. Most importantly, my Catholic faith
draws lose me closer to Him. Challenges and trials have strengthened my love and devotion to
God that I could not do that without my Catholic faith as I surpass these challenges. God is
always watching over me, guiding me and loving me, and my Catholic faith will constantly
reassure me that he is always there and will remind me to support others and be appreciative for
whatever place I get. My Catholic doctrine even makes a difference when I participate in gym
and school class activities. My Catholic doctrine will help me to make suitable physical choices.
Our gift of knowledge, faith and, wisdom enables us to make good decisions, and I would not be
able to do that without my faith and devotion to Him. As you can see, the fundamental to me
have been blessed by God through a beautiful life, fascinating and breathtaking things: friends,
my career path, and a big happy, healthy family. My Catholic faith allows me to believe in God
and his Son, Jesus. That is why my Catholic faith is essential to me.
