QUESTION OF POLICY: SHOULD ALL PEOPLE BE REQUIRED TO WEAR FACE

MASK WHEN THEY GO OUTSIDE THEIR HOMES? WHY?

CLAIM OF THE POLICY: ALL PEOPLE SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO WEAR FACE

MASK WHEN THEY GO OUTSIDE THEIR HOMES

REASON: UNIVERSAL WEARING OF FACEMASK PREVENTS THE SPREAD OF

COVID-19.

EVIDENCE:

The ignition of the COVID-19 pandemic has altered life as we know it and encompasses
differences among protocols and standard safety. Many of us stay home, evade people
on the street, and adjust daily habits, like going to school or work, in manners we never
envisioned. Messaging on the significance of wearing a mask during the pandemic has
at times been disorganized. While we are transforming old behaviors, there are new
routines we need to embrace. The first and leading need is wearing a mask or face
shielding whenever we are in a public area. Masks are not immaculate barriers to
transmission and should be combined with preventive measures such as social
distancing and contact tracing. Based on our preparatory work in outbreaks of infectious
diseases, we know and observed that clear, constant messages about what people can
do to protect themselves and their communities are necessary. By that standard, the
importance of masks wearing has been confusing.

Early in the pandemic, adults of the general public have been told not to wear masks
because of the driven safety of our environment in the past old days, and of a sudden, it
changes. This was caused by the outstanding recognition that standard surgical masks
(also called medical masks) are inadequate to protect the wearer from many respiratory
pathogens and the apprehension about diverting limited supplies from healthcare
environments. Science is the purpose of wisdom and understanding, and it inevitably
varies the way we see the world. Thanks to the unwavering efforts of scientists
everywhere, we have capsulized years of investigation on the COVID-19 virus into
months which has led to a rapid evolution of policies and recommendations imposed by
the government around the world, and not surprisingly, some skepticism about the
advice of experts. Universal mask usage can enormously reduce virus transmission in
communities.

These are some of the specialties we’ve discovered that masks and face coverings can
prevent the wearer from transmitting and catching the COVID-19 virus to others and
guard the wearer. Many people with COVID-19 are ignorant they are bearing the virus.
Universal mask use can seriously reduce virus transmission in society by containing
anyone from disseminating it to others, including unwittingly taking the virus. Masks are
not perfect protection and barriers to transmission, but they don’t need to be flawless if
used alone. Universal mask use should be attended by other safety restrictions and
public health standards such as testing, contact tracing, physical distancing, and
restrictions on travel and large gatherings that we utmost as a tradition of each family.
These measures aren’t excellent either, but when many inadequate standards are
converged at a district level, they can be sufficient at slowing transmission and
lessening infections. Masks can also lessen the inequitable impact of the pandemic,
particularly for those who live in crowded environments where physical distancing is
complex and for those who work in frontline roles where there is a greater risk of
exposure to the virus.
