Q: What are some preventive measures for COVID-19?

1. Wear a mask. Very basic but extremely important. It is worth noting that people should wear mask
properly by covering both the nose and mouth area. Wearing a mask helps protect the person as well as
others from being infected.

2. Maintain social distancing. Stay 6 feet away from others.

3. Get vaccinated. By being vaccinated, it will boost your immunity and lower the risk of getting and
spreading the virus that causes COVID-19.

4. Wash your hands regularly with soap and water. Rub every surface of the fingers and hands for at
least 20 seconds. If not available, disinfect your hands with alcohol.

Q: What can you say bout the COVID-19 Health Protocols?

Well, the covid-19 health protocols are definitely effective if people follow it strictly. Mask alone will not
protect you. To protect yourself from the coronavirus, also ensure physical distancing, frequent hand
washing and getting vaccinated. In addition, quarantine, contact tracing, screening and isolation are
effective measures of covid-19 prevention, especially when integrated together.

Q: Why do people need to be vaccinated?

Out of all the health protocols, there are some people who aren’t in favor of getting vaccinated which is
somewhat disheartening. I believe that vaccination plays a crucial role not just in reducing the risk of
transmission but as well as the risk of severe illness and death from the virus. As of now, more than 50%
of Filipinos are completely vaccinated. I’m hoping that more and more people will get their vaccine
shots so that the percentage will increase to about 70%. From that percentage, we will likely achieve
what we so called as herd immunity wherein a large portion of the community becomes immune to the
disease.
