Petra Production Facilities & Headquarters - Jordan

Petra Engineering Industries Co. was founded in 1987 with a broad vision to produce a wide
variety of HVAC equipment that meet a diversity of application requirements and to export
to major worldwide markets. The execution of successful corporate and business strategies to
this effect soon took Petra to great heights and enabled them to begin competing with long-
established companies.
By 1994, Petra expanded its line of HVAC equipment utilizing some of the industries most
advanced machinery and raw materials to achieve the highest quality standards. Their
equipment was quickly gaining recognition in over 20 countries worldwide. To handle the
increasing demand for their products, the facilities were expanded and the technology of the
products was continually improved.
With the advent of the new millennium, Petra was designing and manufacturing a large array
of quality HVAC equipment to suit all commercial and industrial applications. Their
strategic finesse and exceptional products enabled them to enter the US market. Being one of
the most competitive and challenging markets, the US symbolized a major milestone of
success for Petra. With dedicated drive, Petra continues to export to the US and over 50

Description:
Due to increasing awareness of noise as an
environmental pollutant, Petra Engineering Industries
Co. developed the Ultra Low Noise chillers with the
lowest dBA level on the market today geared towards
noise-sensitive design requirements.
Petra designed the Ultra Low Noise chillers by using
their 'Patented Design' for the compressor
compartment. In addition, the chillers use the highly
efficient, low noise screw compressors and cast
aluminum sickle-shaped fans with high efficiency
external rotor motors, to further reduce noise levels.
When measured against the ARI standards, the highest
dBA of Petra's chillers is lower than the minimum dBA
requirement for the same tonnage listed in the
ASHRAE standard. In addition, these chillers can be
supplied in systems up to 500 tons and take into
consideration the chiller C.O.P. in both part load and
full load values.
Petra’s Ultra Low Noise chillers have been installed in
projects that have strict sound regulations such as
schools, universities, libraries and large commercial
projects in residential areas of the USA, UK and other
countries, where noise control is imperative. The
chillers were installed near the building with minimal
noise disruption to its occupants and its surrounding
neighbors.

Description:
Petra's PAH units are built from modular sections, allowing units to be fitted and sized exactly to
customers’ specifications. A computer selection program allows fast and accurate selections of PAH
units at different conditions. These units are widely used in a variety of applications. The units are
designed to provide easy service and access to major components. Quick release access doors/panels
offer complete accessibility to fans, coils and filters.

! Penta-post construction is used for a unique rigid construction with single or double skin panels
! Single skin panels are insulated with fiberglass as standard or polyurethane as an option (1" or 2"
thick insulation)

Description:
Petra's standard Air Handling Unit series has been developed to accommodate the requirements of
highly humid climates. The NTB AHU is designed with no metal-to-metal contact between the
outer and inner skin construction to prevent any condensation from occurring on the outer skin.
All units are built from modular sections, allowing them to be fitted and sized exactly to customer
specifications and the units are designed to provide easy service and access to major components.
The quick release access doors offer complete accessibility to fans, coils and filters. These units are
widely used in commercial and industries applications

Description:
CM units are designed specially for small and medium air conditioning systems for commercial and
residential applications such as houses, stores, shops, restaurants, commercial complexes, offices,
laboratories, theaters, showrooms, etc. The units are designed to be easily installed and maintained.
These units may be used for cooling and/or heating and are designed for concealed ceiling
installation above false ceiling with ducted supply and return air distribution or ducted supply and
free return. The units in this series consist of a coil, a fan-motor assembly, and a flat filter.

Description:
The RAC and DC range of fan coil units are suitable for air-conditioning residential, commercial
and institutional buildings. They are available in two types: low static pressure (RAC series) and

Description:
Our PWC Fan Coil Units are uniquely designed units with an attractive appearance for all spaces,
such as homes and offices among others. Petra focused on providing the luxury of individual room
controls (cooling and heating) at very competitive prices. The system can be utilized in wide
varieties of air-conditioned spaces by using our small capacity residential water chillers or larger
capacity air-cooled chillers. The indoor unit is provided with a completely concealed control
package that includes all the necessary water and electronic control devices. Additionally, the
indoor unit is provided with flexible pipes and shut-off valves for quick and easy connection to the
system's water supply, return and drainage.

Description:
Petra chilled water cassette type unit is especially designed to be concealed into false ceilings
exposing on1y the decorative grill panel. Unlike other fan coil units requiring such a space from the
walls or the floors, this unit does not require such a space enabling better utilization of the room.
This unit is very suitable for use in pharmacies, boutiques, banks, and halls where the finishing, the
space and the appearance are of great importance.
One of the greatest advantages of this unit is the condensate pump that allows for the installation of
this unit in almost any location without the need to expose the condensate pipes since the
condensate pump raises the water to the required level for drainage (a rise up to 31.5 inches is
possible).

Description:
The exhaust fan series includes the Smart and Full Duty models. These units are used to remove
exhaust air from areas such as restrooms, kitchens, restaurants hospitals and factories.

Petra's Dry Cooler (PDC) Unit is the outdoor element of Petra's ESC System which is designed to
work under all normal conditions. Its low noise features make it suitable for all applications (offices,

Source) series and one Dry Cooler can be coupled to multiple PWSP (Water Source) Units. Petra's
Dry Cooler evaporator coils are designed to deliver their respective duties at an optimum

System is uniquely designed to enhance energy
savings and produce an optimal reduction in
power consumption. The ESC system consists of
Petra's heat pump water source (indoor unit)
which operates in either heating or cooling mode
providing the required comfort conditions to the
application space. The ESC system is made up of a
closed loop of water; therefore loss of water is
highly unlikely. Compared to other HVAC
systems, Petra's ESC system is most suitable for
multi-leveled and high rise buildings such as

Petra's ESC system is designed to eliminate power
sharing problems between occupants by
providing each user with their own indoor unit

PETRA’s Variable Refrigerant Flow (PVRF) with
DC inverter compressor and R-410A refrigerant,
offer a wide range of capacities to meet the
customer requirements for different applications. It
is a linear system that makes use of a variable
Proportional Integral (PI ) control system which
uses refrigerant pressure sensors to give added
control over inverter and ON /OFF control
compressors in order to abbreviate control steps
into smaller units to provide precise control in both
small and larger areas.
PETRA PVRF systems enable individual control of
up to 64 indoor units of different capacities and
types at a ratio of 50~130 % in comparison with the
outdoor units capacity.
PETRA’s PVRF systems can reach the desired
temperature at a quicker rate and steadily maintains
it without wide fluctuations. That means
uninterrupted comfort and significant energy
savings.
PVRF systems have low running costs by
permitting each zone to be controlled individually.
By using this system, only rooms that require air

Petra became the first Jordanian company to have its
consumer product range given a rating of “A” for
energy efficiency by the 'Jordan Institute of
Standards and Metrology – (JISM)'. This rating was
awarded after the products were tested by Intertek
under the supervision of JISM.

Saudi Arabia Energy Efficiency Lable

Petra Engineering Industries Co. is proud to have
achieved the highest results in the Saudi Standards,
Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) for
all products subjected to the conditions used in the
following standards:
! Energy labeling and Minimum Energy
Performance Requirements for Air-Conditioners
(SASO 2663)
! Non-ducted Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps –
Testing and Rating Performance (SASO 2681)
! Ducted Air-Conditioners and Air-to-Air Heat
Pumps – Testing and Rating for Performance
(SASO 2682)
Tests were done at an ambient of 35°C, and 46°C,
in the case of cooling, and 7°C in the case of
heating.
Intertek Testing Services (ITS) certified all the test
results. Tests included a full evaluation of the
products' performance and power consumption. 51
