Subject – Application for requesting online classes for the winter semester given

increasing COVID cases.

Respected Sir,

I, (NAME) (M. Tech- BRANCH NAME). I am writing to you on behalf of my batch. I am receiving concerns
from students and parents as well as requesting you to arrange online classes at least for the upcoming
even semester. Since 3rd wave of covid-19 is predicted in early February, students and parents have the
following concerns:

1. Students would have to report from far-off states all across the country. Survival becomes difficult if
the situation gets worse as it was witnessed in the previous months.

2. Students need to look out for rented accommodation as there is a shortage of seats in hostels.

3. Delhi being the central hub, we have seen a surge in the Covid-19 cases. There are reports that
India would see a third wave in early February. Restrictions coming in, students would again have to get
back to their hometowns.

4. Many students have lost their parents/family members in 2nd wave and now there is a risk of third
wave/omicron.

5. Many prestigious colleges like IIT Delhi, IIIT Delhi, IIT KGP, etc. have complied with online classes for
the upcoming even semester considering the genuine concerns of students.

6. Parents have concerns because students would have to report to Delhi in early January from far-
reaching states. Students would have to get back to their hometown if the cases peak in February with
the predicted 3rd wave. They are requesting online classes for the upcoming semester.

Considering the growing concerns and brevity of the situation, it is a joint request of parents and
students to conduct the upcoming even semester on online mode only.
