Read this manual carefully and check to ensure that the Guide Rail System has been properly
installed and connected in accordance with relevant safety standards before usage.
There is a RESIDUAL RISK of heavy lifting with Rotorflush Guide Rail Systems.
The user must specifically comply with all the accident prevention regulations in

I. General Description
Rotorflush Guide Rail Systems are all functionally similar with a common construction.
Models vary in weight and dimensions according to their intended site.
Rotorflush Guide Rail Systems are used for the siting and removal for maintenance of Rotorflush
self-cleaning intake strainers and filterpumps.
II. Capacity
Component Construction
Guide Rail 304 Stainless Steel or 316 Stainless Steel
Lifting Plate 304 Stainless Steel or 316 Stainless Steel
Move the pallet containing the product to the site where it is to be installed
before unpacking.
Check that there are no breakages or dents in the packing; if there are, point this out
immediately to the person who delivers the unit.
Carefully remove any packing material around the outside of the product. While it is still resting
on the pallet, check that there has been no damage to the Guide Rail System during transport.
If no damage is observed the Guide Rail System can now be removed from the base of the pallet.
Ensure that all relevant safety procedures are observed. Particular care should be taken when
moving the Guide Rail System and when using it to install or remove a Rotorflush device. The
self-cleaning intake filters and filterpumps are heavy and should only be moved using suitable
lifting aids operated by a qualified person.
I. Setup
Bolt the guide rail sections together using the supplied M8 x 12 cap head bolts.
Sit the filter onto the lifting platform. Adjust the clamping around the pump motor. Tighten so
that the filterpump cannot move.
II. Mounting
The Guide Rail must be installed in a manner that allows it to be securely fixed to a structure
capable of holding both the weight of the Guide Rail System and the weight of the Filter or
Filterpump intended for use.
Sea Water
When installing the Guide Rail System in sea water, it should be conductively connected to a
device that has appropriate sacrificial anodes with a suitable weight for both the Guide Rail
System and the device itself (Self-cleaning intake filter or Filterpump).
We do not recommend fitting the anodes directly to the Guide Rail System as the anodes will
need periodic inspection and replacing at end of life.
It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure that the Guide Rail System is connected a structure
strong enough to withstand forces created from any water flowing past the Filter.
III. Use
Attach pipework to the filter/filterpump.
Lift the assembly with suitable lifting apparatus. Use the lifting eye attached to the top of the
lifting platform structure.
Slide the lifting plate onto the guide rails. Make sure both brackets slide onto the rails.
Lower the filter/filterpump under control.
When lifting the platform go slowly allowing most of the water to drain from the filter as it leaves
the water.
9. WASTE DISPOSAL
The Guide Rail System is made 304/316 Stainless Steel which can be recycled.
Rotorflush will deliver the repaired Guide Rail System without charge within the warranty period
to mainland UK addresses only.
If the customer exports the Guide Rail System outside the United Kingdom, there will be charge
to return the Guide Rail System to the customer.
11.DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY
DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY
We, ROTORFLUSH FILTERS LIMITED, declare under our own responsibility that our
Lifting Plate and Guide Rail Systems conform to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
