Towards this end, the Department Administrative Order No. 2009- 12, re: Designation of Sarangani Bay Water Quality Management Area and Creation of Its Governing Board” was issued. With the aim of protecting Sarangani Bay, the Governing Board (GB) had prepared and approved various activities included on the Ten-Year Action Plan. One of the programs listed under the approved 2021 Work and Financial Plan (WFP) prepared and approved by the EMB XII included the celebration of the official designation of Sarangani Bay as the first WOMA in the Region. The “SarBay WOMA Week" was agreed by the GB during the Action Planning Workshop held on September 2020, and shall be organized in November 2021.
